Matthew Tkachuk LW | FLA
Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk: Unavailable in Montreal
Tkachuk (personal) will not be an option for Tuesday's game in Montreal, Panthers TV Rinkside Reporter Katie Engleson reports.
Tkachuk has returned home to South Florida, as he and his wife are awaiting the birth of their first child. Fantasy managers shouldn't count on the left-shot winger being in the lineup for Thursday's game in Ottawa as well, and it remains to be seen if Tkachuk will rejoin the team during its road trip, which concludes Saturday in Toronto. Mackie Samoskevich could receive an elevated role in Montreal due to Tkachuk's absence.

Jacob Fowler G | MON
Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Not starting after all
Contrary to a prior report, Fowler is not expected to be in goal against the Panthers on Tuesday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Lavoie is now reporting that Jakub Dobes was the first goaltender to leave the ice at the morning skate. With Fowler seemingly not being the starter for Tuesday's game, his next opportunity to tend the twine will be against Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Miles Wood LW | CLB
Blue Jackets' Miles Wood: Absent from morning skate
Wood is dealing with an illness, according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
While Wood's status is in question for Tuesday's contest in Detroit, it's unclear if he would have been in the lineup, as head coach Rick Bowness has decided to shake up the team's forward group. Either way, Wood can be considered a game-time call for this crucial matchup in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Joel Hofer G | STL
Blues' Joel Hofer: Facing Colorado again
Hofer will defend the home net against the Avalanche on Tuesday, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.
Hofer will get his third straight start Tuesday, as he's posted solid performances in back-to-back wins in Anaheim and Colorado. The Manitoba native made 26 saves on 28 shots against the Avs on Sunday, keeping the Blues' playoff hopes alive in the process. Hofer will look to have a similar result Tuesday, as his club now sits five points behind the Kings for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

Mitchell Chaffee RW | TB
Lightning's Mitchell Chaffee: Flipped to minors
Chaffee was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Chaffee has failed to record a point in 10 NHL games this year, though he did chip in 24 hits, four blocks and four PIM during that stretch while averaging 9:11 of ice time. It appears Chaffee will be switching places with Jakob Pelletier, who was called up in a corresponding move, according to Encina.

Jakob Pelletier LW | TB
Lightning's Jakob Pelletier: Recalled from minors
Pelletier was promoted from AHL Toronto on Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Pelletier has appeared in just two NHL games this year in which he failed to generate a point while producing three hits and two blocks. Even with his elevation to the NHL roster, the 25-year-old winger is far from a lock to play and could find himself sitting in the press box periodically.
