  • Dylan Guenther RW | UTA

Mammoth's Dylan Guenther: Pots pair in first period

Guenther scored two goals on eight shots, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.

Guenther's goals came 3:55 apart in the first period, and he put the Mammoth ahead 2-1 with the effort. The Capitals rebounded over the final two frames, but this was still a good showing for Guenther, who has tallied eight times over his last 11 contests. He's up to 36 goals, 61 points (18 on the power play), 222 shots on net, 58 hits, 26 PIM and a plus-3 rating over a career-high 71 appearances. He's got momentum on his side as he pushes toward the first 40-goal campaign of his career.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Sets career mark on power play

Guentzel had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss to Seattle on Thursday.

Guentzel took a stretch pass from Darren Raddysh and went high over Philipp Grubauer's glove on a breakaway. He has four points (two goals, two assists; six shots) in his last two games. Guentzel has 33 goals, 43 assists and 188 shots in 71 games this season. His assist came on the power play where he has tallied 29 points. That's a new career mark.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Enters game in relief

Vejmelka stopped the only shot he faced in relief of Vitek Vanecek in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.

Vejmelka logged 7:17 on the ice, and he was pulled for an extra skater, allowing Alex Ovechkin to net an empty-netter to complete his hat trick. The 29-year-old Vejmelka was pulled from his last start, but it doesn't look like a goalie crisis is brewing for the Mammoth. On the year, Vejmelka is 32-19-3 with a 2.71 GAA and an .897 save percentage, and he'll likely get the nod in a critical matchup in Los Angeles on Saturday.

  • Mammoth's Vitek Vanecek: Torched for six goals

Vanecek stopped 17 of 23 shots in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.

Vanecek was pulled midway through the third period, and Karel Vejmelka stopped one shot before the Capitals scored an empty-netter. The 30-year-old Vanecek had been pretty steady in recent appearances, but this outing didn't match that standard. He's now 5-11-3 with a 2.87 GAA and an .886 save percentage over 20 outings this season. The Mammoth kick off a three-game road trip in Los Angeles on Saturday, and that'll likely be a game for Vejmelka to start given the implications on the playoff race.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Nets overtime win

Grubauer made 30 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Grubauer is second fiddle to Joey Daccord, but the starter has really struggled lately (1-5-1 in his last seven starts; .862 save percentage). Seattle is three points behind Nashville for the second wild-card playoff spot from the Western Conference. The Kraken need to win, so expect Grubauer to get another start right away. He has struggled himself, but he's 2-1-0 in his last three starts.

  • Capitals' Trevor van Riemsdyk: Snags assist Thursday

Van Riemsdyk posted an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mammoth.

Van Riemsdyk has four helpers over his last seven contests. The 34-year-old blueliner is maintaining a place in the lineup even as the Capitals carry nine defensemen, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get rotated out when the team is eliminated from playoff contention. For the season, van Riemsdyk has earned 12 points, 37 shots on net, 81 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 59 appearances in a bottom-four role.

  • Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Deals assist Thursday

Fehervary notched an assist, two hits and three blocked shots in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mammoth.

Fehervary has been limited to two assists over 16 outings since his Feb. 2 goal versus the Islanders. The 26-year-old defenseman remains a regular in the lineup even while the Capitals are carrying nine blueliners, but he's not playing because of his offense. He's at 22 points, 67 shots on net, 102 hits, 157 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating over 72 appearances, offering steady shutdown defense.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Earns pair of assists

Strome registered two assists, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mammoth.

Strome has three helpers over his last three games. He set up the last two goals of Alex Ovechkin's hat trick in this contest. The 29-year-old Strome has gone 17 games without a goal while earning just eight assists in that span, but he was back on the top line Thursday, which could help him finish the year strong if he stays there. Overall, the center has 53 points (19 on the power play), 132 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 71 appearances.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Registers two assists

Chychrun notched two assists, two hits and a plus-4 rating in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mammoth.

Chychrun helped out on both of Ivan Miroshnichenko's goals in this contest. It's been a bit of a tough month for Chychrun, who has five points and a minus-3 rating over 11 appearances in March as his goal scoring has dried up. The 27-year-old blueliner is at 53 points (23 goals, 30 helpers), 208 shots on net, 100 blocked shots, 54 hits, 57 PIM and a plus-17 rating over 71 appearances. This has been a career year on offense for the blueliner, even with the recent slowdown.

  • Kaapo Kakko RW | SEA

Kraken's Kaapo Kakko: Five points in last four games

Kakko delivered a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning on Thursday.

Kakko has five points (two goals, three assists) over the past four games and eight points, including five assists, in his last six. This late season surge can help fantasy managers -- Kakko's availability is high in a lot of formats because his overall totals (12 goals, 20 assists; 54 games) are relatively unimpressive.
