Knight is expected to start on the road against Philadelphia on Thursday, per Jack Bushman of Chicago Hockey Now.
Knight stopped 30 of 33 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime loss to Nashville in his last start Sunday. He's 18-19-10 with a 2.64 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 47 outings in 2025-26. Philadelphia has a 9-3-1 record across its past 13 games, but the Flyers have generated a modest 2.46 goals per game over that stretch.

Sabres' Zach Metsa: Returned to minors
Metsa was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.
With Conor Timmins back from injury, Metsa was going to face an uphill battle for ice time on the crowded Sabres' blue line. Instead, he'll head back to the minors, where he should be able to log big minutes, including some power-play opportunities. In his 38 games with the Sabres this season, the Wisconsin native has notched two goals, four assists and 22 shots while averaging a mere 10:19 of ice time.

Ethen Frank C | WAS
Capitals' Ethen Frank: Expected to miss Thursday's game
Frank (lower body) wore a non-contact jersey during the morning skate, per Capitals radio announcer John Walton, which suggests that he won't play Thursday against Utah.
Frank also missed Tuesday's 3-0 loss to St. Louis. He has 12 goals and 24 points in 60 outings in 2025-26. Frank will likely serve in a bottom-six role once he's ready to return.

Philip Larsen: Hangs up skates
Larsen announced his retirement from professional hockey Thursday.
Larsen had nine goals, 37 points, 46 PIM, 197 hits and 149 blocks across 151 career regular-season NHL games. He had stints with Dallas, Edmonton and Vancouver, and was last in the NHL in 2016-17. Larsen continued his playing career in the KHL and later in Denmark. He had two goals and 12 points in 27 regular-season appearances with Esbjerg EfB Ishockey of Denmark's Metal Ligaen.

Victor Eklund RW | NYI
Islanders' Victor Eklund: Reassigned to AHL
Eklund was transferred to AHL Bridgeport from Djurgardens IF of the SHL on Thursday.
Eklund, the 16th pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, had six goals and 24 points in 43 games for Djurgardens IF this season, picking up five points in his last four games with the Swedish side. He should make his North American debut next week and has a chance to crack the Islanders' lineup out of training camp next season. possibly on one of the top two lines.

Ducks' Ville Husso: Between pipes on road
Husso will tend the twine on the road versus the Flames on Thursday, Alyson Lozoff on Turner Sports reports.
Husso has appeared in just four of the Ducks' 15 games coming out of the Olympic break, going 2-2-0 with a 2.81 GAA. If Anaheim can open up a lead in the Pacific, it might decide to utilize Husso more down the stretch in order to keep Lukas Dostal fresh for a postseason run.

Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Returns to AHL
Dries was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.
Dries has no points, two shots and eight hits in five outings with Detroit in 2025-26. He also has 20 goals and 37 points in 48 outings this season in the minors with AHL Grand Rapids.

Hill will defend the home crease versus Edmonton on Thursday, according to Mark Spector of Sportsnet,
Hill has not played well since the NHL returned to action following the Olympic break. He is 5-6-0 with a 2.78 GAA and an .867 save percentage across 11 starts. Overall, he is 9-9-3 with a 3.03 GAA and an .868 save percentage over 23 appearances this season. The Oilers are tied for fifth in NHL scoring, generating 3.47 goals per game.

Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Between pipes Thursday
Lankinen will make his fifth straight start in net Thursday at home versus Los Angeles, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.
Lankinen has lost three games in a row, giving him an 8-24-5 record with a 3.63 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 40 games. The Kings are 29th in NHL scoring, averaging 2.61 goals per game.

Mammoth's Barrett Hayton: Considered week-to-week
Head coach Andre Tourigny said Thursday that Hayton (upper body) is considered week-to-week, Brogan Houston of the Deseret News reports.
Hayton suffered an upper-body injury during Tuesday's matchup against the Oilers, and he's facing a multi-game absence late in the season. The 25-year-old has recorded 10 goals, 15 assists, 54 PIM, 34 hits, 29 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating while averaging 15:07 of ice time over 67 appearances this year, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be in the mix to return before the end of the regular season.
