Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Patrolling crease in Game 1
Dobes will be between the road pipes in Game 1 against the Hurricanes on Thursday, Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette reports.
Dobes has started all 14 postseason games for the Habs this year, going 8-6 with a 2.52 GAA and .910 save percentage. The young netminder has been significantly better on the road in the playoffs, posting a 6-2 record compared to his 2-4 numbers at home.

Troy Terry RW | ANA
Ducks' Troy Terry: Expected to undergo surgery
Terry played through a hip problem that will require offseason surgery, leaving his recovery timeline up in the air, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports Thursday.
Terry basically skipped practices throughout the postseason, but that didn't stop him from appearing in all 12 playoff games for the Ducks. In those outings, the 28-year-old winger notched three goals and eight assists, including a pair of power-play points.

Valeri Nichushkin RW | COL
Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Finds twine in Game 1 loss
Nichushkin scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
Nichushkin got the Avalanche on the board at 5:53 of the third period, but their comeback effort came up short. The 31-year-old winger was dropped to the third line to begin this series after going scoreless in the last three games of the second round. In this postseason, he's earned two goals, two assists, 15 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-3 rating over 10 appearances.

Gabriel Landeskog LW | COL
Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Strikes on power play in loss
Landeskog scored a power-play goal on three shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
Landeskog netted his fourth goal of the postseason to make things interesting late in the third period. The Avalanche weren't able to tie the game despite the captain's effort. Landeskog is up to nine points, 26 shots on net, 34 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 10 playoff contests. He should continue to operate in a top-six role and on the power play.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Loses Game 1 of WCF
Wedgewood stopped 24 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Wedgewood didn't get enough support early on while keeping Vegas off the board for the first 32-plus minutes until Dylan Coghlan scored at 12:29 of the second period. This was just the second loss in nine outings this postseason for Wedgewood, and it's the third time he's allowed more than two goals. The absence of Cale Makar (undisclosed) looms large, but the Avalanche's defense still did fairly well despite the loss. Game 2 is Friday, but head coach Jared Bednar has yet to reveal his starting goalie for that contest.

Ben Hutton D | LV
Golden Knights' Ben Hutton: Picks up helper in win
Hutton notched an assist and two PIM in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday.
Hutton assisted on forward Brett Howden's game-winning goal in the third period, which occurred just after Hutton got out of the penalty box. The 33-year-old defenseman's assist was his first point in seven games this postseason. Hutton has added eight shots on net, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. He seems likely to stay in the lineup as long as Jeremy Lauzon (upper body) is out.

Dylan Coghlan D | LV
Golden Knights' Dylan Coghlan: Opens scoring Wednesday
Coghlan scored a goal in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday.
The goal was Coghlan's first since Dec. 17, 2021, when he was in his first stint with the Golden Knights. He's played in just 10 NHL regular-season contests for three separate teams over the last three years, failing to earn a point in any of those outings. For now, he's filling a third-pairing role in the absence of Jeremy Lauzon (upper body). Coghlan is likely to see sheltered minutes during this series against a tough opponent.

Nic Dowd C | LV
Golden Knights' Nic Dowd: Deposits empty-netter
Dowd scored an empty-net goal, added four hits and blocked two shots in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday.
Dowd hadn't earned a point since he scored in a Game 3 loss to the Mammoth in the first round. The 35-year-old doesn't have to score to be effective as a shutdown center on the Golden Knights' fourth line. He has three tallies, 17 shots on net, 32 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 13 playoff contests.

Brett Howden C | LV
Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Stays hot in Game 1 win
Howden scored a goal on four shots in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday.
Howden's tally early in the third period came just after Vegas killed off a penalty. It also stood as the game-winning goal. The 28-year-old forward has emerged as a reliable top-six option this postseason, though it's his work on the penalty kill that has stood out. He's up to nine goals, including three while shorthanded, and two assists through 13 playoff contests. Howden has also chipped in 24 shots on net, 35 hits and a plus-7 rating.

Pavel Dorofeyev RW | LV
Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Nets 10th goal of postseason
Dorofeyev scored a power-play goal on three shots in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday.
Dorofeyev tallied to make it a 2-0 lead for the Golden Knights in the second period. The winger continues to shine in the postseason as he builds his case for a big payday as a restricted free agent. Dorofeyev is up to 10 goals, two assists, 35 shots on net and a plus-5 rating over 13 playoff outings.
