  • Brent Burns D | COL

Avalanche's Brent Burns: Back at practice

Burns (undisclosed) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.

Burns sat out some on-ice sessions after Colorado's series-clinching 4-3 overtime win over Minnesota last Wednesday. However, he should be ready for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Vegas this Wednesday. Burns has contributed three assists, 14 shots on goal, six blocked shots and 13 hits in nine appearances this postseason.

  • Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Deflects in goal

Greenway scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadiens in Game 7.

Greenway's body deflected a Mattias Samuelsson shot to get the Sabres on the board at 13:19 of the second period. In 13 playoff outings, Greenway had three points, seven shots on net, 30 hits and six PIM. While the production wasn't much, the fact that he was healthy enough to play the whole time was a big positive. He's under contract with the Sabres for 2026-27, so he should be in the mix for a bottom-six role again, but he's also missed at least 15 games in each of the last five years.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Tallies in Game 7 loss

Dahlin scored a goal on five shots and blocked two shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadiens in Game 7.

Dahlin's third-period tally forced overtime, but he didn't have one more heroic moment in him. The defenseman ended the postseason on a five-game point streak, in which he earned three goals and seven assists. Overall, he produced four goals, 10 helpers, 46 shots on net, 15 hits, 15 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 13 appearances in his first taste of postseason action. Dahlin is poised to be a pillar of the Sabres' defense for years to come and makes for a good pick to lead a fantasy blue line in drafts this fall.

  • Zack Bolduc C | MON

Canadiens' Zachary Bolduc: Strikes on power play

Bolduc scored a power-play goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres in Game 7.

Bolduc was a little quieter in the second round, earning three points over seven contests against the Sabres. He's at seven points, 14 shots, 38 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 14 outings this postseason. The 23-year-old has made himself a regular in the bottom six as well as a power-play option on the second unit. He has some appeal as a depth forward in DFS if the Canadiens can solve the Hurricanes' defense in the Eastern Conference Finals.

  • Canadiens' Phillip Danault: Nets first goal of playoffs

Danault scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres in Game 7.

Danault gave the Canadiens a positive start with a tally 4:30 into the contest. This was the center's first goal of the postseason. He's up to six points, 13 shots on net, 25 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 14 playoff outings, with five of those points coming in the second round. Danault will continue to play a key defensive role as the Canadiens turn their attention to the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Hurricanes.

  • Golden Knights' Trevor Connelly: Joins Black Aces

Connelly was brought up from AHL Henderson on Tuesday, according to SinBin.vegas.

Connelly will provide depth for the Golden Knights as they continue their playoff run, but he more than likely will not get into any games. The 2024 first-round selection (No. 19 overall) has yet to make his NHL debut, but that will probably come at some point next season. The 20-year-old played at a high level in the AHL in 2025-26, generating 14 goals and 49 points over 46 regular-season games. Connelly also banked a goal and five helpers across six playoff games for the Silver Knights.

  • Golden Knights' Alexander Holtz: Summoned from AHL

Holtz was recalled from AHL Henderson on Tuesday, per SinBin.vegas.

Holtz will join Vegas' Black Aces ahead of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Colorado on Wednesday. He had three goals, nine points, 30 shots on net and 29 hits in 28 appearances for the Golden Knights during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Lightning's Maxim Groshev: Inks two-year deal

Groshev agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract with Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Groshev made his NHL debut last season, logging two regular-season games for the Bolts in which he produced one assist, one shot and one block while averaging 11:30 of ice time. The 24-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft as a winger before making the switch to defense. While he figures to start the 2026-27 campaign in the minors, Groshev could get a look during the season, given his flexibility and offensive potential.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Heartbreaking OT loss in Game 7

Luukkonen stopped 22 shots Monday during the Sabres' 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadiens in Game 7 of their second-round series.

Montreal grabbed a 2-0 lead on a Zachary Bolduc power-play goal late in the first period, but Luukkonen locked things down for the rest of regulation as Buffalo rallied to tie it. The Sabres' luck ran out in OT, though, as Alex Newhook beat Luukkonen through traffic midway through the first extra frame. The 27-year-old netminder wound up appearing in six of Buffalo's 13 games during the playoffs, posting a 3.18 GAA and .876 save percentage -- a step back from the regular season, when he delivered a 22-9-3 record in 35 outings with a 2.51 GAA and .909 save percentage. With both Luukkonen and Alex Lyon under contract for 2026-27, the Sabres could continue to roll with a tandem in the crease next season.

  • Alex Newhook C | MON

Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Pots another series-clinching goal

Newhook scored the overtime winner Monday during the Canadiens' 3-2 victory over the Sabres in Game 7 of their second-round series.

After scoring the series-winner to finish off the Lightning in the first round, Newhook was the hero for the Habs once again. The 25-year-old took a pass from Alexandre Carrier midway through the first extra period, skated into the Sabres' end, and snapped a shot from the top of the faceoff circle through traffic past Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Over Montreal's last 10 playoff games, Newhook has racked up seven goals and nine points, and he'll look to stay hot when the Eastern Conference Finals begin in Carolina on Thursday.
