  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: In goal Saturday

    Merzlikins will patrol the home crease against Utah on Saturday, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

    Merzlikins has posted a 12-9-1 record this season with one shutout, a 3.47 GAA and an .887 save percentage through 24 appearances. Utah is tied for 14th in the league with 3.16 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Slated to start Saturday

    Vejmelka was the first goaltender off the ice at morning practice, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports, and is expected to defend the visiting cage in Columbus on Saturday.

    Vejmelka is having a career year, posting a 29-16-2 record with a 2.61 GAA and a .900 save percentage in the 2025-26 campaign. He has already set a new career high in wins, beating his previous best of 26 from last season. The Blue Jackets are averaging 3.13 goals per game, which ranks 17th in the league.

    Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Stays hot with multi-point effort

    Ehlers recorded a goal, an assist, three shots and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 6-3 win over the Oilers.

    Ehlers was unable to repeat the hat trick he scored against the Canucks on Wednesday, but he remains one of the Canes' most dangerous players despite holding a bottom-six role in the lineup. Ehlers has scored five goals in his last three outings and has cracked the scoresheet in six of his last seven appearances, racking up nine points (six goals, three helpers), 21 shots on goal, two hits and a plus-7 rating in that span.

    Blackhawks' Ilya Mikheyev: Scores, assists in loss

    Mikheyev delivered a goal and an assist in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks.

    The Russian winger cut Chicago's deficit to 3-2 late in the first period with a snap shot, and then added an assist in Frank Nazar's second-period tally. The 31-year-old Mikheyev, who snapped a five-game point drought with this performance, has 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) on the season.

    Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Not playing Saturday

    Fabbro (lower body) has been ruled out of Saturday's tilt against Utah, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

    Fabbro will miss his second straight game. He has four goals, five assists, 51 hits and 88 blocked shots across 54 contests this season. He could return as early as Monday versus Los Angeles.

    Blackhawks' Frank Nazar: Records two points in loss

    Nazar had a goal, an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks.

    Nazar assisted Ryan Donato's goal in the first period and also evened things up late in the second frame with a tip-in, giving him eight goals on the season. Nazar has now cracked the scoresheet in back-to-back games, something he hadn't achieved since Jan. 29 and Jan. 30. With this two-point performance, the 22-year-old has set a new career-high mark in points with 27 -- he notched 26 points in 53 games last season. He's also just four goals away from matching his career-best output in that category as well.

    Canucks' Jake DeBrusk: Point streak reaches three games

    DeBrusk recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.

    This is the fourth time this season DeBrusk has posted a point streak of at least three games, and the 29-year-old winger continues to be one of the few fantasy viable options on the Canucks roster. He's up to 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 61 games, putting him on pace to reach the 40-point plateau for the fifth consecutive campaign.

    Canucks' Max Sasson: Two points in win Friday

    Sasson scored an empty-net goal and added an even-strength assist in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.

    Sasson scored a goal for the first time since Jan. 19 and also recorded his first multi-point effort since Nov. 26, when he had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win over the Ducks. Sasson is having a career-best season in the 2025-26 campaign. He has 11 goals and 14 points through 52 games.

  • Brock Boeser RW | VAN

    Canucks' Brock Boeser: Scores twice in win

    Boeser scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.

    Boeser came through when the Canucks needed him the most with a pair of third-period goals. He gave Vancouver a 4-3 lead with a power-play tally at the 2:40 mark and later closed out the scoring with an empty-netter with 16 seconds left. Boeser, who has scored three times in his last two appearances and notched his first multi-goal effort since Nov. 3, is up to 15 goals on the season. He's on pace to hit the 20-goal plateau for a third consecutive campaign.

    Red Wings' Justin Faulk: Expected to play Sunday

    Faulk is slated to play in New Jersey on Sunday. Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

    Faulk was dealt from St. Louis to Detroit on Friday and will meet the Red Wings in New Jersey. He had 11 goals, 21 assists, 102 blocked shots and 49 hits across 61 appearances with St. Louis before the trade.
