Sebastian Cossa G | DET
Red Wings' Sebastian Cossa: Sent to AHL Grand Rapids
Cossa was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.
Cossa was recalled Wednesday when John Gibson (upper body) was unable to play or back up Cam Talbot. It appears that Gibson should be good to go Friday against Florida, eliminating the need for Cossa. Cossa is 24-4-3 with a 1.99 GAA and a .927 save percentage across 31 AHL games this season, and his wins and GAA trail only Michael DiPietro among AHL goaltenders in 2025-26.

Darcy Kuemper G | LA
Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Game-time call Thursday
Kuemper (illness) is expected to be a game-time decision for Thursday's home matchup against the Islanders, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Kuemper wasn't available for Monday's 4-2 loss to Colorado due to his illness. He has a 14-12-9 record, 2.68 GAA and .897 save percentage across 37 outings in 2025-26. The Kings currently have two goaltenders on the roster between him and Anton Forsberg, so Los Angeles will probably recall a netminder from the minors if Kuemper isn't an option Thursday. It's also possible that Kuemper will end up dressing as the backup if he's feeling better but still isn't 100 percent.

Jake Walman D | EDM
Oilers' Jake Walman: Cleared to play Friday
Walman (undisclosed) will be in the lineup Friday against Carolina, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Walman will team up with Connor Murphy, who was acquired Wednesday from Chicago. Walman was injured Tuesday in Ottawa and snapped his two-game goal scoring streak. Walman has eight goals and 10 assists in 33 games this season.

Cole Reinhardt LW | FLA
Golden Knights' Cole Reinhardt: Placed on waivers
Reinhardt was placed on waivers by the Golden Knights on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Reinhardt has appeared in 44 games for Vegas this year, recording three goals, four assists, 84 hits and 19 PIM while averaging 9:47 of ice time. The 26-year-old should report to AHL Henderson if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Curtis Douglas C | VAN
Lightning's Curtis Douglas: Waived by team
Douglas was designated for waivers Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Douglas, assuming he clears, figures to head down to AHL Syracuse, where he spent six games while on a conditioning assignment. In 29 NHL games this year, the 25-year-old center has managed just two assists, 17 shots and 32 hits. The extra roster spot could help facilitate a deadline move for Tampa Bay.

Alexander Holtz RW | LV
Golden Knights' Alexander Holtz: Placed on waivers
Holtz (upper body) was put on waivers by Vegas on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Holtz has missed the last two games due to his upper-body injury. He has three goals and six assists in 28 games. The Golden Knights picked up Nic Dowd from Washington earlier Thursday, so Holtz could have trouble earning a roster spot with the Golden Knights down the stretch.

Mathieu Joseph RW | LA
Mathieu Joseph: Set to be released by Blues
Joseph is on waivers Thursday for the purpose of terminating his contract with St. Louis.
It would seem Joseph's cap hit ($2.95 million) was making it hard to find a potential trade partner or a team willing to pick him up off waivers. Assuming he clears, the 29-year-old winger will be free to sign with any NHL team at a lower cost, though he'll need to do it by Friday's trade deadline to be eligible to play in the postseason.

Maxim Tsyplakov RW | NJ
Devils' Maxim Tsyplakov: Hits waiver wire
Tsyplakov was placed on waivers by New Jersey on Thursday.
Tsyplakov was acquired from the Islanders on Jan. 27 and has yet to pick up a point in nine games. He had one goal and one assist in 27 games with the Islanders prior to the trade and still has one year remaining on a two-year contract he signed in July of 2025.

Linus Ullmark G | OTT
Senators' Linus Ullmark: Starting against Calgary
Ullmark will draw the road start against Calgary on Thursday, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.
Ullmark has gone 1-0-2 with a 2.94 GAA and .887 save percentage over his last three starts, and he'll tend the twine for a fourth consecutive matchup following the Olympic break. During a home start against the Flames on Oct. 30, he turned aside 26 of 29 shots (.897 save percentage) in a 4-3 overtime victory.

Luke Glendening C | PHI
Devils' Luke Glendening: Designated for waivers
Glendening was placed on waivers by the Devils on Thursday.
By putting Glendening on waivers, the team will be able to move him down to the minors in the future, assuming he goes unclaimed. The Devils did the same with Evgenii Dadonov and Maxim Tsyplakov, which could be a sign they are finalizing a deal to bring a player or two in via trade. For his part, Glendening has featured in just four of the team's last 14 contests and has gone 11 games without generating a point.
