    Golden Knights' Nic Dowd: Dealt to Sin City

    Dowd was traded to Vegas from Washington on Thursday in exchange for Jesper Vikman, a 2027 third-round pick and a 2029 second-round selection.

    The Golden Knights acquired a veteran center who should see third-line minutes. Dowd had four goals, 12 assists and 113 hits across 55 games with Washington. He takes plenty of faceoffs, winning 373 of 766 draws with the Capitals in 2025-26. To make room on the roster, the Golden Knights placed Mark Stone (upper body) on injured reserve.

  • Capitals' Jesper Vikman: Dealt to Washington

    Vikman, a 2027 third-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick were traded to the Capitals from the Golden Knights on Thursday in exchange for Nic Dowd.

    Vikman has yet to make his NHL debut, but he's appeared in 18 games for AHL Henderson this year, going 8-7-3 with a 3.41 GAA and .866 save percentage. The netminder will presumably head to AHL Hershey following Thursday's deal.

    Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Placed on injured reserve

    Stone (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

    Stone suffered an upper-body injury during Sunday's game against the Penguins and had already missed two matchups as a result. While it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, his placement on injured reserve indicates that he'll be unavailable for at least a week in total. Cole Reinhardt should continue to see playing time in Stone's absence.

    Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting Thursday

    Greaves will patrol the home crease versus Florida on Thursday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.

    Greaves has been outstanding of late, posting a 7-0-1 with a 2.34 GAA and a .915 save percentage over his last nine appearances. The 24-year-old netminder is 19-12-7 with a 2.65 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 39 outings this season. The Panthers are the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions and have floundered this season. as they are 15th in the Eastern Conference standings, 10 points in arrears of Boston, the second wild card.

    Flyers' Travis Konecny: Set to miss another game

    Konecny (upper body) is slated to miss Thursday's game against the Mammoth, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.

    Konecny was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate, but it appears as though he'll be unavailable for a third consecutive matchup due to his upper-body injury. The 28-year-old is considered day-to-day, and his next opportunity to return will be Saturday against Pittsburgh.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Tending twine Thursday

    Silovs was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate, according to Penguins' reporter Dan Potash , and will be between the home pipes versus Buffalo on Thursday.

    Silovs has won three straight games, giving up three goals on 79 shots, including a 22-save shutout Sunday in Boston. Overall, Silovs is 13-7-8 with a 2.75 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 28 appearances. The red-hot Sabres are generating 3.38 goals per game, eighth in the NHL in 2025-26.

    Flyers' Dan Vladar: First goalie off Thursday

    Vladar was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Mammoth.

    Vladar is in the midst of a two-game winning streak in which he's posted a 1.44 GAA and .948 save percentage, and he'll draw a third consecutive start Thursday. The Mammoth rank 15th in the NHL with 3.16 goals per game this season.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting against Toronto

    Shesterkin will defend the home crease against the Maple Leafs on Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

    Shesterkin will make his fourth consecutive start following the Olympic break. Across his last three outings, he's gone 1-0-2 with a 3.20 GAA and .885 save percentage. He started on the road against Toronto on Oct. 16 and turned aside 22 of 24 shots (.917 save percentage) in an overtime loss.

  • Mammoth's Dmitri Simashev: Recalled from AHL

    Simashev was summoned from AHL Tucson on Thursday.

    Simashev was selected sixth overall by the franchise in 2023 and the 21-year-old has played 24 games this season at the NHL level, picking up one assist and 26 blocked shots. He has been more successful for Tucson this season, potting eight goals and 20 assists in 30 appearances. The Mammoth acquired MacKenzie Weegar from Calgary on Wednesday, but it will take time to process his visa. The Mammoth currently have six defensemen on the roster, as Olli Maatta was dealt to the Flames in the Weegar deal, necessitating the recall of Simashev.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Two helpers in shootout win

    Hischier pocketed two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Maple Leafs.

    The 27-year-old center had a hand in tallies by Timo Meier in the first period and Arseny Gritsyuk in the second. It was Hischier's first multi-point effort since Jan. 23, snapping a sluggish 10-game stretch in which he'd managed four goals but zero helpers. On the season, Hischier's up to 20 goals and 45 points in 62 contests, putting him on pace to potentially fall short of 60 points in a full season for the first time since 2019-20.
