  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Yields three goals in loss

Knight gave up three goals on 25 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Predators. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Knight had a 2-1 lead to protect in the third period, but he wasn't up to the task. He's lost in regulation in four of his last six outings, and he's given up at least three goals in seven straight games. The 24-year-old is down to 16-17-7 with a 2.63 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 40 games. It's possible the career-high workload is catching up to him, especially with a young defense in front of him. Knight and Arvid Soderblom can be expected to split this weekend's back-to-back set, which has the Blackhawks visiting the Avalanche on Saturday and the Mammoth on Sunday.

  • Matthew Wood RW | NSH

Predators' Matthew Wood: Buries power-play marker

Wood scored a power-play goal and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Wood has three points over his last four games. This was his first power-play point since Nov. 10 versus the Rangers. For the season, the rookie winger has 10 goals, eight helpers, 69 shots on net, 38 hits and a minus-3 rating over 47 appearances. He's currently in a bottom-six role, which will make it tough to rely on Wood for consistent offense.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Adds empty-netter

Stamkos scored an empty-net goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Stamkos received the puck on a Chicago turnover and made no mistake on the empty-netter. He has 11 goals and six helpers over his last 14 outings. The 36-year-old forward is up to 29 goals, 45 points, 144 shots on net, 65 hits and a minus-15 rating through 58 appearances this season. Stamkos likely doesn't have the time to approach a point-per-game pace, but he's been quite effective since late November.

  • Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Buries go-ahead goal

O'Reilly scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

O'Reilly put the Predators ahead with 3:16 left in the third period, and his goal stood as the game-winner. The center has three goals and three assists over four outings in February. For the season, he's earned 21 goals, 57 points, 108 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating in 58 appearances. He's on pace for his best season with Nashville, and he could take a run at the 70-point mark for the first time since 2018-19, when he had 77 points in 82 contests with the Blues.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Leaves with lower-body injury

Doughty won't return to Thursday's game versus the Oilers due to a lower-body injury.

Doughty joins Joel Armia (upper body) as Kings players to exit this contest. Should Doughty miss time, Jacob Moverare would likely get a chance to enter the lineup. The Kings' next game is Saturday versus the Flames.

  • John Tavares C | TOR

Maple Leafs' John Tavares: Three-game goal streak

Tavares scored a power-play goal in a 5-1 loss to Florida on Thursday.

It was Tavares' 79th power-play goal with the Maple Leafs. That tied him with Wendel Clark for the fifth most in franchise history. Tavares is on a four-game point and three-game goal streak. He has three goals, one assist and nine shots in those four games.

  • Filip Forsberg LW | NSH

Predators' Filip Forsberg: Opens scoring Thursday

Forsberg scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Forsberg has six goals and two assists over his last six NHL outings. The 31-year-old winger picked up just two points over five games at the Olympics for Sweden, but that poor tournament performance didn't stall his momentum in league play. For the season, he's at 25 goals, 48 points, 177 shots on net, 105 hits and a minus-4 rating through 58 appearances in a top-six role.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Gets win over Blackhawks

Annunen stopped 21 of 23 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Annunen allowed a go-ahead goal to Tyler Bertuzzi in the third period, but the Predators bounced back with the last three tallies of the game. This was Annunen's second win in his last three outings. The 25-year-old netminder has had plenty of ups and downs this season, sitting at a 6-7-2 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .885 save percentage across 19 appearances. Juuse Saros will likely return to the starting role in a tough matchup Saturday in Dallas.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Longest assist streak of career

Matthews picked up an assist Thursday in a 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

Matthews' assist streak now stands at five games and five assists. It matches the longest assist streak of his career. Matthews has gone six games without a goal (17 shots), and he has just one snipe in his last 10 games (one goal, seven assists).

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Recovers after three-goal first

Woll made 32 saves in a 5-1 loss to Florida on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

All three snipes came in the first period, and then he shut the door. Woll is 13-8-4 with two shutouts, 2.92 GAA and .910 save percentage in 26 starts this season. The Leafs are eight points from a wild-card position, so a sell-off could happen. Woll will stay put, but Anthony Stolarz could theoretically move. And that would change the net dynamics going forward.
