Anton Wahlberg C | BUF
Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Summoned from Rochester
Wahlberg was recalled from AHL Rochester on Tuesday.
This is Wahlberg's first promotion to the NHL after coming to North America toward the end of the 2023-24 season to play with the Sabres' minor-league affiliate. The Swedish forward, a second-round selection (No. 39 overall) in 2023, has produced six goals, 25 points and a team-high plus-12 rating over 47 appearances with the Americans this season. Due to the Sabres dealing with several injuries up front, Wahlberg is poised to make his NHL debut in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Kale Clague D | WPG
Jets' Kale Clague: Called up Tuesday
Clague was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Tuesday.
The decision to bring Clague up from the minors could be an indication that Neal Pionk (lower body) won't be ready to return to action versus the Canucks on Wednesday. Even with injuries piling up on the blue line, the 27-year-old Clague figures to serve as a healthy scratch with Ville Heinola taking the open spot in the lineup.

John Tavares C | TOR
Maple Leafs' John Tavares: Not practicing Tuesday
Tavares will miss Tuesday's practice due to illness.
Tavares could be in danger of missing out against the Lightning on Wednesday if his flu symptoms are severe enough. Additionally, the Leafs are heading into a back-to-back, which means the veteran center could be questionable to face the Panthers on Thursday as well.

Remi Poirier G | DAL
Stars' Remi Poirier: Brought up from minors
Poirier was recalled from AHL Texas on Tuesday.
Poirier figures to serve as the backup to Casey DeSmith on Wednesday, as starter Jake Oettinger is still making his way back from the Olympics. Fantasy managers can likely expect the 24-year-old Poirier to be shipped back to the minors after Wednesday's matchup.

Matt Luff RW | NYI
Islanders' Matt Luff: Acquired via trade
Luff was traded to the Islanders from the Blues in exchange for Julien Gauthier on Tuesday.
Luff is putting together a strong season in the minors, racking up 14 goals and 25 assists in 42 games with AHL Springfield. The 28-year-old winger hasn't been as productive in the NHL, tallying 16 goals and 12 helpers in 111 regular-season outings, but his switch to the Islanders organization could see him make his 2025-26 NHL debut sooner rather than later.

Julien Gauthier RW | STL
Blues' Julien Gauthier: Flipped in minor-league deal
Gauthier was traded to the Blues from the Islanders on Tuesday in exchange for Matt Luff.
Selected in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Gauthier has struggled to live up to that hype. The 28-year-old winger has logged 181 regular-season games at the NHL level, notching 19 goals and 22 assists along the way. So far this season, Gauthier has failed to break into the NHL, playing exclusively with AHL Bridgeport while generating five goals and two assists in 14 games. He figures to report to AHL Springfield, where he will likely spend the rest of the 2025-26 campaign.

Josh Morrissey D | WPG
Jets' Josh Morrissey: Shifts to IR
Morrissey (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Morrissey's placement on IR confirms that the blueliner will miss a period of time, which coincides with earlier reports Monday. The 30-year-old defenseman missed each of Canada's last five games at the 2026 Winter Olympics after leaving their first contest following a collision with Czechia's Ondrej Palat. Morrissey has compiled 10 goals, 42 points, 104 shots on net and 94 blocked shots across 56 games for Winnipeg this season. The Jets' task of rejoining the wild-card race in the Western Conference will be difficult without their lead defenseman, who will miss at least three games. His earliest chance to return is March 3 versus Chicago.

Mikko Rantanen RW | DAL
Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Surfaces on IR
Rantanen (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Rantanen sustained the injury in Finland's semifinal loss to Canada on Friday at the 2026 Winter Olympics. There is no timeline in place for his return to the lineup, but he won't be available to play when the Stars return to action against Seattle on Wednesday. Rantanen has amassed 20 goals, 69 points, 126 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and 38 hits across 54 appearances this season.

Kevin Lankinen G | VAN
Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Won't play Wednesday
Lankinen is not expected to suit up against the Jets on Wednesday, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports.
Lankinen is still making his way back from Milan after taking part in the Winter Olympics with Finland. The Canucks recalled Nikita Tolopilo from AHL Abbotsford on Monday, though whether Tolopilo or Jiri Patera gets the nod versus Winnipeg remains to be seen. Even with the travel delays, Lankinen should be back in time to get the nod on the road versus Seattle on Saturday.

Eric Comrie G | WPG
Jets' Eric Comrie: Tending twine Wednesday
Comrie will defend the road net against Vancouver on Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Comrie has won his last three outings while making 72 saves on 75 shots. He has a 9-9-1 record with a 3.07 GAA and an .892 save percentage across 19 appearances this campaign. Vancouver sits 29th in the league with only 2.54 goals per game in the 2025-26 season.
