  • Filip Chytil C | VAN

Canucks' Filip Chytil: Injured in Salt Lake City

Chytil (undisclosed) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game in Utah.

Chytil didn't come out for the start of the third period, and it's unclear what caused him to exit the game. The 26-year-old went minus-3 in 7:36 of ice time prior to departing. Considering his lengthy injury history, it would be surprising to see Chytil suit up in Vancouver's final game before the Olympic break, which will be in Vegas on Wednesday.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Eighth loss in last 11 starts

Bobrovsky made 15 saves on 20 shots in a 5-3 loss to Buffalo on Monday.

Florida is in trouble right now -- it's 10 points behind Buffalo for the first wild-card spot, and nine points behind Boston for the second one. Bobrovsky has lost three straight, five of his last six, and eight of his last 11 starts (3-8-0). He can use some rest and fast -- the Olympic break will hopefully give him the R&R he needs.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Eclipses 30 helpers on season

Malkin dished out an assist in Monday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

Malkin recorded the primary assist on Yegor Chinakhov's opening goal in the first period. With the helper, the 39-year-old Malkin reached the 30-assist mark for the season, which secured his fourth consecutive campaign above that total. Overall, the veteran forward is up to 43 points across 39 games this season, which ranks him in a tie for 20th in the NHL with 1.10 points per game. Since his return from an upper-body injury in early January, he has at least one point in 11 of 13 games and has 14 points in that span. He should continue to elevate the team's top six and play a large role in Pittsburgh's playoff push in the Metropolitan Division, giving him strong value across most fantasy formats.

  • Penguins' Yegor Chinakhov: Records pair of points Monday

Chinakhov scored a goal, distributed an assist and placed three shots on net in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.

Just one day after his 25th birthday, Chinakhov received a present of a pass from his linemate Evgeni Malkin to cash in his seventh goal since debuting for the Penguins on Jan. 1. Chinakhov's move from Columbus to Pittsburgh has gone swimmingly, as he holds a second-line role and has recorded nine of his 15 points this season with the black and gold. At his current scoring pace, he has a chance to flirt with a new career high in both goals and points if he can surpass either of the numbers he set during his 16-goal, 29-point campaign across 53 regular-season games with the Blue Jackets during the 2023-24 campaign. Chinakhov is one of the top options on the waiver wire in standard fantasy formats and is set to play a big role with the Penguins for the foreseeable future.

  • Tommy Novak C | PIT

Penguins' Thomas Novak: Lights lamp in loss

Novak scored a goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

Novak's tally midway through Monday's final period tied the game at two goals apiece before Ottawa's Claude Giroux scored the game-winner six minutes later. Novak's tally brings him up to 10 goals on the season to go along with 29 points and 81 shots on net across 54 games. The goal helped him secure his fourth consecutive campaign reaching the double-digit goal mark. His first full season in Pittsburgh has taken a step up as of late with eight points over his last nine games. His role centering the team's second line alongside Yegor Chinakhov and Evgeni Malkin has elevated the 28-year-old's ceiling in fantasy, giving Novak decent streaming value in deep leagues. Look for him to challenge his career high of 45 points by the end of the regular season.

  • Senators' Drake Batherson: Plucks pair of apples in win

Batherson supplied two assists, put two shots on net and dished out three hits in Monday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.

Batherson came through for the Senators when it mattered the most Monday, as he recorded the primary helper on Tim Stutzle's goal before later chipping in on Claude Giroux's game-winning tally. Following Monday's pair of apples, Batherson is up to 29 assists, 48 points, 108 shots on net and 76 hits across 52 games this season. The 27-year-old winger has recorded at least one assist in each of his last three games and has nine points, 19 shots on net and 18 hits over his last 12 appearances. Batherson has been a steady source of two-way production for Ottawa all season and remains a high-level fantasy option in category leagues for the remainder of the year while he looks to surpass 70 points for the first time in his eight-year NHL career.

  • Claude Giroux LW | OTT

Senators' Claude Giroux: Nets game-winning goal

Giroux scored the game-winning goal and placed three shots on net in Monday's 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Giroux played the hero in Monday's third period with a wacky series of events occurring for the game-winner. He was tripped and ran into the net during the play, but his late goal stood because he hit the net after the puck crossed the line. The late winner brings Giroux up to 11 goals, 39 points and 94 shots on net across 55 games this season. The 38-year-old winger is currently thriving with a three-game point streak and 12 points across 17 games to begin the calendar year. He has been one of the primary contributors to Ottawa's offensive success as of late and should remain heavily involved down the stretch, making the veteran a viable fantasy option in most leagues moving forward.

  • Tim Stutzle LW | OTT

Senators' Tim Stutzle: One of each in win

Stutzle tallied a goal, recorded an assist, fired four shots on net and had two blocked shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.

Stutzle found another gear late in the contest, where he found the back of the net less than seven minutes into the third period before later sliding the primary assist on Claude Giroux's game-winning goal. The pair of points brought Stutzle up to 26 goals, 33 assists, 141 shots on net, 87 hits and 37 blocked shots across 55 games this season. The 24-year-old center has recorded two points in each of his last three games and in five of his last nine outings, which has played a large part as to why he is tied for 10th in the league for points in that span. Stutzle is one of the league's most underrated stars and is on track to record the second campaign of his six-year career with 90 points or more.

  • Senators' Michael Amadio: Cashes in goal Monday

Amadio scored a goal on two shots and dished out two hits in Monday's 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Amadio found the back of the net less than two minutes into the second period to level the score at one apiece. With his tally, he is up to eight goals, 21 points, 64 shots on net, 78 hits and 28 blocks across 55 games this season. While Ottawa's younger and upcoming talents frequently steal the headlines, the 29-year-old Amadio has been solid lately with four points over his last seven games. He not only secured a 20-plus-point campaign for the fourth consecutive season, but is also on track to set a new career-high if he can surpass the 27 points he totaled in each of the past three seasons. He has even seen more than two minutes higher than his season-average ice time (15:40) in each of his last four outings, which makes him an intriguing streaming option in deep fantasy leagues that value category coverage over pure offense.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Faces high volume in loss

Silovs stopped 28 of 31 shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.

Silovs put together a solid performance through the first two periods, as he allowed just one goal, before the Senators struck the back of the net twice in the third to steal the win. Following Monday's loss, the 24-year-old Silovs now holds a 10-7-8 record, a 2.97 GAA and an .893 save percentage across 25 outings this season. Monday's loss snapped his two-game win streak, where he played a solid part in the Penguins' run of six consecutive wins to wrap up their January slate. While Stuart Skinner has caught fire and holds the larger share of the workload in net, Silovs remains a solid spot start in deep fantasy leagues when he's called upon.
