  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Earns win vs. Florida

Hofer stopped 16 of 20 shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

Hofer bounced back from two straight losses to record his fourth win of the month. The 25-year-old has had several ups and downs this season, and despite winning four of his seven outings in January (4-2-1), his .894 save percentage during that time isn't particularly eye-popping. Hofer and Jordan Binnington have alternated starts over the past several games, and that trend should continue for the time being.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Beaten five times Thursday

Tarasov stopped 26 of 31 shots in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Blues.

Tarasov had won each of his previous four starts, but he took a step back in this one -- he was coming off a stretch in which he had allowed three or fewer goals in his previous five outings. Tarasov has been the backup for the Panthers behind Sergei Bobrovsky, and the nature of that role limits his upside to matchup-based situations.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Starter for Saturday

Gibson will patrol the home crease versus Colorado on Saturday, Michael Whitaker of The Hockey News reports.

Gibson will make his fourth straight start and 12th in his last 14 games. Gibson is 21-10-2 with three shutouts, a 2.61 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances in 2025-26. The Avalanche lead the NHL in scoring, averaging 3.88 goals per game.

  • Pavel Zacha C | BOS

Bruins' Pavel Zacha: Not on road trip

Zacha (upper body) will not accompany the team to Florida ahead of Boston's two-game road trip, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports Friday.

Zacha suffered the injury against Philadelphia on Thursday. The center has 15 goals and 37 points, including 15 with the man advantage, over 54 appearances this season. He is unlikely to play against Tampa Bay on Sunday and could return after the Olympic break if he doesn't join the team ahead of Wednesday's matchup against the Panthers.

  • Bruins' Elias Lindholm: Set to miss next two games

Lindholm (upper body) won't travel with the Bruins for their two-game swing through Florida, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports Friday.

Lindholm will not only miss the Stadium Series game in Tampa, but this raises doubts about whether he will be healthy enough to join Team Sweden in Milan for the 2026 Winter Olympics. With Pavel Zacha (upper body) also not making the trip, the Bruins will likely have to deploy Fraser Minten and either Casey Mittelstadt or Matthew Poitras as their top two centers.

  • Dante Fabbro D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Still sidelined Friday

Fabbro (lower body) will not be in the lineup versus Chicago on Friday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Fabbro will miss his fifth straight game due to his lower-body injury. With the Jackets heading into a back-to-back, it seems unlikely the 27-year-old blueliner will be available versus the Blues on Saturday either. Prior to his absence, Fabbro was struggling to produce, managing just one point in his last 16 contests.

  • Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Helps out on late tally

Slavin recorded an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Mammoth.

Slavin helped tie the game when he tallied the secondary helper on Shayne Gostisbehere's goal with less than 90 seconds remaining in the contest. Overall, the 31-year-old Slavin is up to three assists, 10 shots on goal and 21 blocked shots across 13 games this season. When healthy, Slavin has been a strong source of blocks per game and already has four games of three-plus blocks this season. All three of his assists on the year have been in his last eight games, which could be an indication that he's starting to find his groove in Carolina's offense. Barring injury, the shutdown blueliner is a solid fantasy option moving forward.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Set to start Saturday

Hellebuyck went through his starting routine Friday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports, signaling that he's slated to start Saturday's road game against the Panthers.

Hellebuyck has struggled to enter the win column recently, going 1-3-2 with a 2.64 GAA and .909 save percentage over his last six starts. That stretch includes a Jan. 22 start at home against the Panthers in which he turned aside 19 of 20 shots (.950 save percentage) in a shootout loss.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Takes tough loss against Isles

Quick turned aside 19 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Islanders.

Both goals against the 40-year-old netminder came in a 95-second span late in the second period, as Carson Soucy snuck the puck past Quick inside the near post from a bad angle before Matthew Schaefer ripped a shot through traffic for the game-winner. Quick has struggled to hold down the fort in the crease while Igor Shesterkin (lower body) has been on the shelf, going 1-6-1 through eight outings in January with a rough 4.56 GAA and .823 save percentage.

  • Carson Soucy D | NYI

Islanders' Carson Soucy: Quick revenge against Rangers

Soucy scored his fourth goal of the season in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.

Traded to the Islanders from their cross-town rivals early in the week, Soucy opened the scoring and ended a 23-game goal drought in just his second appearance for his new club when he snuck a shot past Jonathan Quick from a bad angle late in the second period. Soucy isn't in the lineup for his offense, and through 48 games on the season between both New York teams, he's delivered nine points, 73 hits, 67 blocked shots, 43 shots on net, 18 PIM and a plus-5 rating.
