  • Lightning's Ryan McDonagh: Ready to rock

McDonagh (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday and is slated to return to the lineup versus Winnipeg, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

McDonagh has missed the last 15 games, as well as 33 of the last 36 contests, with the same injury. McDonagh has four goals and four assists across 18 appearances this season. Look for Maxim Groshev to come out of the lineup for McDonagh.

  • Brett Berard LW | NYR

Rangers' Brett Berard: Called up Thursday

Berard was recalled from AHL Hartford on Thursday.

Berard spent some time with the Rangers earlier this season, and he recorded no points, 15 hits, nine blocked shots and six PIM while averaging 10:42 of ice time over 12 appearances with the NHL club. He was sent to the minors in early January but will provide additional depth for the Blueshirts ahead of the Olympic break.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting Thursday

Gustavsson will be between the home pipes versus Calgary on Thursday, Wild radio broadcaster Kevin Falness reports.

Gustavsson saw his three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, stopping 30 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Florida. Gustavsson is 17-9-6 with three shutouts, a 2.62 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 33 appearances this season. The Flames are having trouble finding the back of the net, scoring 2.50 goals per game, which ranks 31st in the NHL.

  • Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Placed on injured reserve

St. Ivany (hand) was put on injured reserve Thursday.

St. Ivany was injured Jan. 25 and had surgery two days later. He is expected to miss up to eight weeks. St. Ivany has seven assists, 40 hits and 23 blocked shots over 17 NHL appearances this season. The Penguins recalled Rutger McGroarty from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a corresponding move.

  • Bruins' Matthew Poitras: Called up by Boston

Poitras was recalled from AHL Providence on Thursday.

After appearing in exactly 33 games at the NHL level in each of the last two seasons, Poitras hasn't yet spent time with Boston this year. However, he'll join the big club after Elias Lindholm sustained an upper-body injury in Tuesday's game against Nashville. Across 39 appearances with Providence this year, Poitras has recorded eight goals, 16 assists and 33 PIM.

  • Penguins' Rutger McGroarty: Brought up from minors

McGroarty was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.

McGroarty could be pressed into service for Thursday's clash with Chicago while Bryan Rust is serving his three-game suspension. If the 21-year-old McGroarty does play, he could find himself slotting into a first-line role alongside Sidney Crosby in order to keep the rest of the Penguins' lines intact.

  • Hugh McGing LW | STL

Blues' Hugh McGing: Recalled by St. Louis

McGing was recalled from AHL Springfield under emergency conditions Thursday.

McGing was sent to the minors in mid-December, but he'll rejoin the NHL club after Dylan Holloway (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Thursday. McGing appeared in three games with the Blues last month, logging a goal, an assist and two blocked shots while averaging 10:52 of ice time.

  • Matt Luff RW | NYI

Blues' Matt Luff: Summoned from AHL

Luff was recalled on an emergency basis from AHL Springfield on Thursday.

Luff has played five games at the NHL level this season, scoring once. Luff has had 13 goals and 33 points in 33 AHL games this season, leading the Thunderbirds in scoring. The Blues placed Dylan Holloway (ankle) on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

  • Dylan Holloway LW | STL

Blues' Dylan Holloway: Designated for injured reserve

Holloway (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Holloway has played in just one of the Blues' last 20 games due to his ankle issue. While Holloway could be activated ahead of Saturday's clash with the Jackets, it seems likely that he will be shut down through the Olympic break to give him some time to recover. With forward injuries piling up, the Blues added Matt Luff and Hugh McGing to the roster ahead of Thursday's clash with the Panthers.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Gets starting nod versus Isles

Quick will be between the pipes for Thursday's home clash with the Islanders, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

Quick was mired in a 12-game losing streak before securing a 4-3 win over the Bruins on Monday. With the veteran netminder struggling, he has been sharing the crease with Spencer Martin while Igor Shesterkin (lower body) is on the shelf. Over the last eight seasons, Quick has managed to reach the 20-win threshold just once and is unlikely to do so in 2025-26.
