Angels' David Huff: Performs poorly in spot start versus Yankees
Huff (0-1) was roughed up by the Yankees in his first start of the season. He lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out one.
Huff was recalled by the Angels to make the start Tuesday against his former team (he appeared in 41 games with the Yankees from 2013-14). It was his first major league outing since June 3, 2015. Following the game, the 31-year-old lefty admitted he had a case of the jitters and struggled to get settled in. The Angels' rotation has been depleted by injuries, but Nick Tropeano (shoulder) isn't expected to be out long, meaning the team won't need the services of Huff for an extended period.

Royals' David Huff: Throws two unremarkable innings on Thursday
Huff threw two innings of relief in Triple-A Omaha's loss to New Orleans on Thursday, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out three.
Huff's mediocre first outing matches his spring performance, where he allowed 18 hits and eight earned runs in 17 innings. If Huff can match his 2.20 ERA from last season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he might find his way to Kansas City, but teammates Scott Alexander and Miguel Almonte seem more likely to be called up at this point in the season.

David Huff: NRI to Royals camp
Huff signed a minor league deal with the Royals on Wednesday, which includes an invite to spring training, Baseball America's Matt Eddy reports.
The 31-year-old southpaw spent most of 2015 with the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate, where his 2.20 ERA was impressive, but his 19.5% K-rate left a lot to be desired. He will likely fill a similar role with the Royals in 2016.
