Coleman signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Thursday.
Coleman returned to affiliated baseball in 2018 after spending time in the independent Atlantic League, though he struggled to a 6.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 28.2 innings with Triple-A Iowa. Coleman was reassigned to the Mariners' minor league camp Sunday, Shannon Drayer of ESPN 710 AM Seattle reports.
The Mariners brought Coleman into camp as a non-roster invitee, but he was unable to claim a bullpen job with the big club. It sounds as though he's amenable to sticking around with the organization, however, with Triple-A Tacoma his most likely destination to begin the season.
