Brewers' Robert Stock: Inks minors deal with Milwaukee
Stock signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Stock spent the 2022 season with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization and pitched to an overall 3.60 ERA with 138 strikeouts (and 83 walks) in 29 starts covering 165 innings. Control problems plagued him throughout his time in MLB-affiliated ball, and it seems that those issues haven't been fully ironed out yet. The hard-throwing 33-year-old will probably be viewed as organizational bullpen depth by Milwaukee, though he did at least prove in the KBO that he can handle a starter's workload.

Robert Stock: Heading to KBO
Stock agreed to a one-year, $700,00 contract with the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization on Tuesday, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.
Stock refused an outrighted assignment to Triple-A from the Mets in late October and elected free agency, and he'll continue his career in South Korea. The 32-year-old appeared in three games between the Mets and Cubs in 2021 and surrendered eight earned runs with a 9:9 K:BB over nine innings. However, he did find some MLB success as a rookie in 2018 with the Padres with a 2.50 ERA across 39.2 frames out of the bullpen.

Robert Stock: Elects free agency
Stock (hamstring) elected free agency after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Stock made one start for the Cubs this season and two for the Mets before missing the majority of the second half with a strained right hamstring. Between that injury and his career 4.71 ERA in 72.2 major-league innings, Stock may be stuck looking for a minor-league deal heading into his age-32 season.

Mets' Robert Stock: Moved to 60-day IL
Stock (hamstring) was transferred from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday.
The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Rich Hill, whom the Mets acquired from the Rays earlier Friday. In addition, the roster move means that Stock won't be eligible to return from the IL until late September, after he suffered what was an apparently severe right hamstring strain. The Mets are expected to get multiple rehabbing starting pitchers back from injuries before then, so in all likelihood, Stock will remain on the shelf for the rest of the season.

Mets' Robert Stock: Lands on 10-day IL
Stock was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain Wednesday, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
Stock exited Tuesday's game against the Reds due to a right hamstring issue, and he'll miss additional time after he was diagnosed with a strain Wednesday. It's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to spend more than the minimum of 10 days on the shelf, and the Mets haven't yet announced who could take his place in the rotation. Travis Blankenhorn and Nick Tropeano were recalled from Triple-A Syracuse as part of a corresponding move.

Mets' Robert Stock: Exits with hamstring issue
Stock was removed from Tuesday's game against the Reds with a right hamstring injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The right-hander threw his warm-up tosses for the second inning but left the field with the athletic trainer before the start of the frame. Stock allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout and a walk during his one inning of work. It's another tough break for an already injury-plagued Mets rotation, though the specifics of this injury remain unclear.

Mets' Robert Stock: Promoted for Tuesday's start
Stock was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to start Tuesday's game at Cincinnati, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The right-hander previously confirmed as Tuesday's starter, and he's now officially been added to the big-league roster. Stock made his lone appearance with the Mets back on July 7, and he took the loss against the Brewers after giving up two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks across four innings.

Mets' Robert Stock: Confirmed as Tuesday's starter
Stock will be recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to start Tuesday's game against Cincinnati, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
The club has yet to officially call Stock up from Triple-A, but he's in line to make the third big-league start of his career. His last outing dates back to July 7 against Milwaukee, when he gave up two runs on four hits and two walks while fanning five over four innings of work.

Mets' Robert Stock: Likely starter for Tuesday
The Mets are "leaning toward" calling up Stock from Triple-A Syracuse to start Tuesday's game in Cincinnati, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
As one of the few healthy starting pitchers on the Mets' 40-man roster who isn't already in the big-league rotation, Stock makes for a logical candidate to start in place of Jacob deGrom (forearm), who was moved to the injured list Sunday. Stock tossed an inning in relief for Syracuse on Sunday, but his usage out of the bullpen shouldn't affect his workload too much if he does in fact receive the starting nod Tuesday. Stock previously made one spot start apiece for the Cubs and Mets earlier this summer, giving up seven runs in eight innings between those outings.

Stock was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Stock started the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Milwaukee and allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings to take the loss. He'll head to the Triple-A club during the All-Star break, while Nick Tropeano will remain with the Mets after serving as the 27th man Wednesday.

Mets' Robert Stock: Stuck with loss in nightcap
Stock (0-2) took the loss in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Brewers, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over four innings as the Mets fell 5-0. He struck out five.
The right-hander didn't pitch poorly in his Mets debut, tossing 41 of 68 pitches for strikes, but the team's offense only managed three singles in the nightcap. Stock will likely return to Triple-A over the All-Star break, and there's no guarantee he'll get the call the next time New York needs a fifth starter.

Mets' Robert Stock: Promoted, likely starting Wednesday
Stock was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday and is expected to start Wednesday versus the Brewers, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
The right-hander was claimed off waivers by the Mets and assigned to Triple-A on June 22, and he's now set to debut with his new team. Stock started one game for the Cubs on June 16 before being designated for assignment, and he surrendered five runs on four hits with six walks and three strikeouts across four innings.

Mets' Robert Stock: Claimed by Mets
The Mets claimed Stock off waivers and assigned him to Triple-A on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Stock was designated for assignment by the Cubs after his five-run, six-walk start June 16 against his new team. The Mets had a front-row seat for that rough showing, but they apparently consider him fit to serve as organizational pitching depth. Now a few years removed from his only solid MLB season in 2018, Stock may only be called up by the Mets if injuries to the big-league pitching staff merit such a move.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Loses roster spot
The Cubs designated Stock for assignment Sunday.
Stock lost his spot on the 40-man roster four days after he was pummeled for five runs on four hits and six walks over four innings in his spot start against the Mets. If he clears waivers, Stock will remain in the organization and will likely slot into the rotation at Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Sent down Thursday
Stock was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Stock made his first major-league start Wednesday and allowed five runs in four innings to take the loss against the Mets. He'll now head back to the minors to open a spot in the bullpen for Brad Wieck, who was recalled in a corresponding move.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Takes loss in first MLB start
Stock (0-1) allowed five runs across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Mets. He gave up four hits and six walks while striking out three.
Stock got the call from Triple-A Iowa to make his Cubs debut Wednesday, and the veteran struggled with command in the tough outing. The righty came into the contest with 52 games of big-league experience out of the bullpen for the Padres and Red Sox, so while his first career MLB start didn't go particularly well, Stock could stick around as a relief option for Chicago. He doesn't figure to have a ton of fantasy value in whatever role he occupies.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Will join Cubs, start Wednesday
Stock will be recalled to start Wednesday's game against the Mets, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The veteran and longtime minor leaguer posted a 4.73 ERA in 10 relief appearances with the Red Sox in 2020, and he's pitched to a similar 4.12 ERA in nine games with Triple-A Iowa this year. Stock will likely only be tasked with a couple innings for the Cubs on Wednesday.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Clears waivers
Stock cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Stock was designated for assignment Sunday but will remain in camp as a non-roster invitee. His 4.24 ERA in 63.2 career inning at the major-league level is probably good enough to earn him some low-leverage opportunities for the big club at some point this season.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Dropped from 40-man roster
The Cubs designated Stock for assignment Sunday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Chicago has yet to announce a corresponding move, but the team will presumably use the open 40-man roster spot created by the transaction to clear room for the newly-signed Ryan Tepera or to activate Kyle Ryan from the COVID-19 injured list. The Cubs previously claimed Stock off waivers from the Red Sox in December after he posted a 4.73 ERA and 1.95 WHIP across 13.1 innings out of Boston's bullpen in 2020.

Cubs' Robert Stock: Claimed by Cubs
Stock was claimed off waivers by the Cubs on Wednesday.
Stock was designated for assignment by the Red Sox last week, but he'll find a new spot on a 40-man roster heading into the 2021 campaign. The right-hander made 10 major-league appearances in 2020, logging a 4.73 ERA and 14:10 K:BB over 13.1 innings. Stock has an average fastball velocity of 96.8 mph, but he carries a 10.9 percent walk rate over three seasons in the majors.
