  • Angels' Michael Kohn: Inks deal with Halos

Kohn has signed a minor-league deal with the Angels, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports.

He did not get an invitation to spring training but nonetheless wanted to return to the team he made his big-league debut with in 2010. The 33-year-old righty has a high-spin fastball but has dealt with shoulder/biceps injuries over the past few seasons. He will serve as organizational bullpen depth.

  • Diamondbacks' Michael Kohn: Back on mound in Cactus League

Kohn (biceps) has thrown a pair of scoreless innings so far this spring, striking out two and not allowing a single baserunner.

Kohen is back on the mound after missing the entirety of 2018 with a biceps injury. He's only thrown 13 total innings over the last three seasons, with shoulder issues causing major problems as well. If healthy, he could theoretically help the Diamondbacks, as he owns a 3.52 ERA in 115 career big-league innings, but a 32-year-old coming off years of significant injury problems has to be considered a long shot at best.

  • Diamondbacks' Michael Kohn: Lands in Arizona

Kohn (biceps) signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Kohn will earn $625,000 if he makes the major-league roster. The 32-year-old has thrown 115 career big-league innings and owns a 3.52 ERA, though none of those innings have come in the last three seasons. He's thrown just 13 total innings at any level during that stretch, with shoulder issues costing him all of 2016 and most of 2017 and biceps problems costing him the entirety of last season.

  • Michael Kohn: Cut loose by Minnesota

The Twins released Kohn (biceps) on Sunday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

With Kohn out through at least July with nerve irritation in his right biceps, the Twins elected to part ways with the pitcher rather than stashing him on the minor-league disabled list and overseeing his rehab. Once Kohn is healthy, it's possible that he could re-sign with the Twins or join another club on a minor-league pact. Injuries have undermined Kohn's career in recent seasons, as the 31-year-old has logged just 29.2 total innings between the majors and minors since 2014.

  • Twins' Michael Kohn: Out 4-to-6 months

Kohn (biceps) will avoid surgery but will require 4-to-6 months of rest and rehab before he's cleared to resume throwing, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

It was bad enough that Kohn was diagnosed with a torn right biceps after exiting a Grapefruit League game last week, but it appears the right-hander will now face an even lengthier recovery timetable than what is normally associated with that injury after doctors also detected nerve damage in his throwing arm. Since he's not expected to begin throwing until July at the earliest and will then presumably need several weeks to build up his arm for game action, Kohn's season debut may not come until deep in the second half in a best-case scenario. Kohn will likely be ticketed for a bullpen role at Triple-A Rochester once he's deemed fully healthy.

  • Twins' Michael Kohn: Dealing with nerve damage

Kohn has a tear in his biceps area that is causing nerve damage and he will miss at least several weeks, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

He will head to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota next week to see a specialist, and should be considered out indefinitely. A 31-year-old journeyman reliever, Kohn should spend most, if not all the 2018 season at various levels of the minors, and carries no fantasy value.

  • Twins' Michael Kohn: Exits Wednesday's spring game

Kohn was removed from Wednesday's split-squad contest against Houston due to an apparent injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

There has been no word on the type of injury Kohn sustained, but this is particularly concerning since he's undergone Tommy John and rotator cuff surgery in the past. The 31-year-old is a non-roster invitee to the Twins' camp this spring after only appearing in 13 innings of minor-league work over the past two years due to various ailments.

  • Twins' Michael Kohn: Leaves with biceps discomfort

Kohn was forced to exit Wednesday's split-squad game due to right biceps discomfort, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Kohn left the contest with a trainer after appearing to grab his arm following a pitch during Wednesday's game against the Astros. The club didn't release any information on the severity of Kohn's injury but there should be an update to his status in the coming days. Even in the event that this is a minor ailment, expect the team to be cautious with Kohn due to previous arm problems, including Tommy John surgery in 2016.

  • Twins' Michael Kohn: Returns to active competition

Kohn (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day DL at Triple-A Rochester and transferred to High-A Fort Myers on Wednesday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

The 31-year-old returned to action with the Gulf Coast League affiliate earlier this month, pitching in a competitive setting for the first time in nearly two years. Kohn still needs some time to build himself back up after such a long time away due to shoulder issues, so he will head to Fort Myers for the time being. He may not return to the upper levels of the minors until next year.
