Astros' Jose Altuve: Three hits in loss to Seattle
Altuve went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners.
The Astros tallied five hits as a team Sunday, and Altuve accounted for three of those, as Logan Gilbert surrendered just one run on four hits across seven innings. Altuve continued his hot start to the 2026 season, slashing .333/.457/.526 with two home runs, six RBI, 12 runs scored, one stolen base and a 13:12 BB:K across 70 plate appearances.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Reaches base four times Sunday
Altuve went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Athletics.
With lefty Jacob Lopez starting for the Athletics, Altuve hit leadoff and singled and scored in the fifth and doubled home a run in the eighth before scoring the tying run four batters later. He sandwiched two walks around his hits and reached base four times to push his slash line to an impressive .344/.523/.594 with two home runs, five RBI, 10 runs scored, one stolen base and a 12:7 BB:K across his first 44 plate appearances of the season.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Erupts with two homers
Altuve went 4-for-4 with two solo home runs, two singles, a walk and four runs scored in Monday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox.
Altuve delivered a massive performance from the top of the lineup, reaching base in all five plate appearances while launching his first two home runs of the season in back-to-back trips to the plate. Both long balls came off Johan Oviedo and both cleared the left field porch to extend Houston's lead. While Altuve's no longer in his prime, flashes like this are a reminder that the elite bat speed that defined the 35-year-old's career is still very much there, and if the power sticks, he could push past his 2025 home run total of 26.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Focusing on second base this spring
Astros manager Joe Espada said Monday that Altuve will spend most of spring training working exclusively at second base, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Altuve was the Astros' Opening Day left fielder last season and wound up splitting his time pretty evenly between left field, second base and designated hitter. This season, however, he appears slated to return to his natural second base position on an everyday basis. Zach Cole looks like the favorite to see most of the reps in left field for Houston.
