Zac Rosscup: Let go by Houston
The Astros released Rosscup from his minor-league contract Sunday.
Rosscup made all but one of his 27 appearances this season at Triple-A Sugar Land, producing a 3.10 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 35:17 K:BB in 29 innings. The 34-year-old lefty should be able to find work in another organization, though he'll almost certainly have to settle for another minor-league deal.

Astros' Zac Rosscup: Won't make Opening Day roster
Manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that Rosscup won't be included in the Astros' Opening Day bullpen, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Expect the Astros to formally reassign Rosscup to Triple-A Sugar Land within the next day or two. Rosscup was attending big-league camp as a non-roster invitee after he most recently spent the 2021 campaign in Colorado. He saw the majority of his action at the Triple-A level but made three relief appearances with the big club, giving up an earned run on three hits and a walk across three innings.

Astros' Zac Rosscup: Joining Astros' camp
Rosscup signed with the Astros as a non-roster invitee Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The veteran lefty owns a 5.09 ERA in 86.2 career major-league innings, with his 14.0 percent walk rate offsetting a 29.3 percent strikeout rate. He's only thrown three innings at the highest level over the last two seasons, so he's a long shot to play a significant role in 2022.

Rockies' Zac Rosscup: Sent to minors
The Rockies returned Rosscup to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
Added to the big-league roster July 16 as a replacement for COVID-infected players, Rosscup appeared in four games and yielded one run in three innings of relief. Given his moderate success in those opportunities, the lefty may see another chance with the Rockies at some point this season.

Rockies' Zac Rosscup: Back with Rockies
Rosscup will sign with the Rockies and join the 60-man player pool, pending a physical and COVID-19 screening, Mark Berman of Fox 26 reports.
He was released by Colorado on July 1 and joined the independent Constellation Energy League. The 32-year-old southpaw most recently pitched in the majors for the Dodgers, Blue Jays and Mariners last season, logging a combined 5.00 ERA, 2.28 WHIP and 26:19 K:BB in 18 innings.

Zac Rosscup: Let go by Colorado
Rosscup was released by the Rockies on Wednesday, Baseball America reports.
The veteran southpaw joined the Rox on a minor-league deal in late January but wasn't included in the team's 60-man roster pool, so he was released. Rosscup split 2019 between the Dodgers, Mariners and Blue Jay while posting a 5.00 ERA, 2.28 WHIP and 26:19 K:BB over 18 innings.

Rockies' Zac Rosscup: Gets minors deal with Rockies
Rosscup joined the Rockies on a minor-league deal Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
The deal does not include an invitation to big-league camp, so don't expect to see Rosscup on the Rockies' Opening Day roster. The lefty walked 19 batters in 18 innings last season while recording a 5.00 ERA.

Cardinals' Zac Rosscup: Traded to Cardinals
Rosscup was traded from the Dodgers to the Cardinals on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.
The veteran lefty has appeared for the Mariners, Blue Jays and Dodgers this season, stumbling to a 5.00 ERA. His 27.7 percent strikeout rate is strong, but it's been more than canceled out by an awful 20.2 percent walk rate. He's always been a high walk guy, but his career 14.2 percent mark is far more manageable. He'll be assigned to Triple-A Memphis for now but could be an option down the stretch if he can get his command in line.

Dodgers' Zac Rosscup: Designated for assignment
Rosscup was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Monday.
Rosscup has spent time with three big-league teams this season but failed to impress with any of them. His 5.00 ERA in 18 innings is more mediocre than terrible, but it's come with a 2.28 WHIP and a 20.2 percent walk rate. Casey Sadler was recalled in a corresponding move.

Rosscup signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers on Wednesday, Oklahoma City Dodgers broadcaster Alex Freedman reports.
Rosscup threw 11.1 innings for the Dodgers back in 2018, posting a 4.76 ERA. He has a similar 4.80 ERA in 15 frames for the Mariners and Blue Jays this season. Zac Rosscup: Elects free agency
Rosscup cleared waivers and elected free agency Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Previous reports suggested that Rosscup had accepted his outright assignment to the minors, but he's evidently made a different decision. He may still be looking at a minor-league contract for his next opportunity, as his 4.80 ERA in 15 innings this season has come with a 20.8 percent walk rate and a 2.13 WHIP.

Rosscup will stick in the organization after going unclaimed off waivers when the Blue Jays designated him for assignment last week. Between big-league stops with Seattle and Toronto this season, Rosscup has posted a 4.80 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB across 15 innings.

Blue Jays' Zac Rosscup: Claimed by Jays
Rosscup was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Thursday.
He was designated for assignment by the Mariners last week, but the Blue Jays decided he was a better use of a 40-man roster spot than Jimmy Cordero, whom they designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rosscup's 3.21 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 14 innings for Seattle look pretty excellent, but he also walked a batter per inning over that stretch.

Mariners' Zac Rosscup: DFA'd by Seattle
Rosscup was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday.
Rosscup has posted a 3.21 ERA with 20 punchouts over 14 innings this season, but he'll head to the waiver wire after getting booted from the 40-man roster. Seattle also optioned Erik Swanson to Triple-A Tacoma, while Matt Festa was recalled and Ryan Garton's contract was purchased from the Rainiers.

Mariners' Zac Rosscup: Solid thus far in '19
Rosscup, who allowed an earned run on two hits and a wild pitch while also recording two strikeouts over an inning against the Twins on Thursday, owns a 2-0 record, five holds, a 3.21 ERA and a 1.93 WHIP across 14 innings this season.
The veteran southpaw's WHIP leaves plenty to be desired, but Rosscup has largely limited the potential damage from his control issues by yielding just one home run thus far. Prior to May, Rosscup had mostly been used in matchup-based situations that saw him work under an inning in 11 of 14 outings, but he's now logged one full frame in four of his first five trips to the mound during the month.
