Glasnow had to be shut down for a bit after his back flared up on him when he was playing catch, but he's progressed enough to start tossing the ball around again. He will likely need to throw on flat ground at least a couple more times before progressing to mound work. The good news for Dodgers fans (and Glasnow's fantasy managers) is that the hurler has been playing catch the last few days. However, Roberts indicated Thursday that the team plans to have Glasnow take his time in his recovery, and it's unclear when the right-hander will throw off a mound again. He's eligible to come off the injured list May 22, but Roberts' comments indicate that Glasnow won't be activated immediately. However, Roberts didn't share when the team expects the 32-year-old to be inserted back into the rotation.

Glasnow plans to get back on a mound soon and could quickly return to Los Angeles' starting rotation if he can avoid any setbacks as he ramps up his throwing program. The right-hander is working his way back from a bout of lower-back spasms and will be eligible to be reinstated late next week.
The Dodgers placed Glasnow on the 15-day injured list Friday with lower-back spasms.
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that MRI results on Glasnow's back didn't reveal anything significant, per Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, but the Dodgers will send him to the injured list to be safe. Paul Gervase was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move to give Los Angeles some extra bullpen depth, and Roki Sasaki figures to stick in the Dodgers' six-man rotation for the foreseeable future even with Blake Snell (shoulder) returning this weekend.

Glasnow said that his back "gave out" during a warm-up throw before the second inning, and he didn't feel much better on his next attempt to throw before the Dodgers removed him from the game. He worked one inning prior to his departure, striking out two batters while allowing one earned run on one hit. Glasnow spent time on the injured list in 2024 due to back spasms, and he'll get an MRI to determine whether he'll need a stint on the IL, per Ardaya. For now, Glasnow can be viewed as day-to-day ahead of his next start, which is tentatively set for Wednesday versus the Giants in Los Angeles.

It was a big rebound outing for Glasnow after he served up a couple homers and four runs to the Rangers his last time out.
