  • Nationals' Logan Verrett: Signs minors deal with Washington

Verrett joined the Nationals on a minor-league deal in early February.

Verrett owns a 4.62 ERA in 150 career major-league innings, the last of which came in 2017. He spent 2018 with the NC Dinos in Korea, struggling to a 5.28 ERA, before returning stateside and getting stuck in the upper minors. His 4.74 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Tacoma last season hardly suggests the 31-year-old is about to make a significant impact at the major-league level.

  • Mariners' Logan Verrett: Joins Seattle on minors deal

Verrett signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Monday and was assigned to Triple-A Tacoma.

The 30-year-old right-hander appeared in 57 games in the majors with the Mets, Rangers and Orioles from 2015 through 2017, logging a 4.62 ERA in 150 career innings. Since that time, Verrett has seen action in the Korea Baseball Organization (in 2018), with the Athletics' Double-A affiliate (in 2019) and in the independent American Association of Professional Baseball (earlier in 2021). He'll step into the rotation for Tacoma in hopes that he can make enough of an impression to earn a call-up to the big leagues at some point later this summer.

  • Athletics' Logan Verrett: Latches on with A's

Verrett signed a minor-league contract with Oakland on Monday, Athletics Farm reports.

Verrett played in South Korea during the 2018 campaign, but he'll return to the United States and has been assigned to Double-A Midland to begin spring training. He appeared in four games for the Orioles during the 2017 season, allowing five runs on 11 hits and three walks while fanning nine across 10.2 frames. Verrett figures to serve as organizational depth for the Athletics.

  • Logan Verrett: To play in South Korea

Verrett signed with the NC Dinos in South Korea, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.

He was removed from the Orioles' 40-man roster in September, and instead of going to Triple-A and trying to pitch his way back to the majors, he opted for a stable job overseas. The 27-year-old righty has a 4.62 ERA in 150 MLB innings.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Outrighted to Triple-A

Verrett cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Verrett will head back to Norfolk to serve as organizational pitching depth after passing through waivers untouched. The 27-year-old compiled a 4.22 ERA across 10.2 major-league innings this season, which is slightly better than his 4.62 ERA over 150 career big-league innings.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Designated for assignment

Verrett was designated for assignment on Friday.

The O's needed to clear a couple of 40-man roster spots, and Verrett was seen as an expendable piece. He could easily stay in the organization, however, as he boasts a 4.62 career ERA in 150 big-league innings.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Taxis back to Norfolk

Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

The right-hander was called up Sunday to provide extra bullpen depth, but he'll head back to the minors after hurling 2.2 innings in relief immediately after being recalled. Miguel Castro will take his spot in Baltimore's bullpen, but Verrett could end up back in the majors once he's available to pitch again.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Recalled from Triple-A

Verrett was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

It's the fourth call-up of the season for Verrett, who made one appearance apiece in each of his previous three stints with the Orioles this season. The 27-year-old, who had been carrying a 5.87 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over 23 innings with Norfolk, will likely serve as a mop-up man out of the bullpen.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Optioned to Triple-A

Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

After starter Chris Tillman lasted just 2.2 innings for the Orioles in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees, Verrett was called upon for long relief and didn't fare much better, surrendering three runs on five hits and a walk over three innings. The heavy workload likely would have kept Verrett unavailable for at least the next two games, so he was sent back to Norfolk in exchange for Mike Wright, who will offer the Orioles a fresher arm out of the bullpen.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Recalled from Triple-A

The Orioles recalled Verrett from Triple-A Norfolk prior to Sunday's game against the Astros, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Verrett will provide the Orioles with a fresh arm out of the bullpen after Tyler Wilson tossed an inning in Saturday's game and was subsequently optioned back to Norfolk. Verrett and Ubaldo Jimenez are candidates to piggyback Alec Asher, who replaces Jimenez in the rotation Sunday after having worked out of the bullpen in recent weeks.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Returns to Triple-A

Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Verrett appeared in just one game during his latest stint in the majors. He pitched three shutout innings and allowed just two hits. In a corresponding move, the Orioles recalled Vidal Nuno from Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Recalled from Triple-A

Verrett was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

He will add some length to Baltimore's bullpen after Zach Britton (forearm) and Gabriel Ynoa (hamstring) were placed on the DL. Verrett had a 6.57 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 12.1 innings with Norfolk. Righty swing man Alec Asher was also recalled along with Verrett.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Optioned to Triple-A

Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

The Orioles wanted to add a fresh arm in the bullpen for their four-game series with the Red Sox that begins Monday, so Verrett -- who covered two innings Sunday against the Yankees -- was shipped out in favor of Mike Wright. Verrett will likely work in long relief for Norfolk, with whom he's compiled a 6.57 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 12.1 innings on the season.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Called up from Triple-A

Verrett was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, Eduardo Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Verrett will take over the spot on the 25-man roster vacated by Jayson Aquino, who was optioned to Norfolk a day earlier. It's expected that Verrett will work in long relief for the Orioles after turning in a 6.57 ERA over 12.1 innings with Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Walks four on Opening Day for Triple-A

Verrett allowed two hits and four walks while striking out four over two innings Thursday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Once considered an option to replace Chris Tillman (shoulder) in the big-league rotation, Verrett has fallen a long way from grace. A terrible spring ruined any chance of making the 25-man roster, and his minor-league Opening Day performance casts more doubt on his ability to contribute at the highest level. The right-hander can't afford early-season control problems in the minors if he hopes to have any chance of donning an Orioles uniform this season.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Sent to minors

Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Eduardo Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Verrett was briefly in consideration to fill one of the Orioles' rotation spots to begin the year, however his spring struggles landed him at Triple-A Norfolk instead. The 26-year-old worked to a 8.10 ERA and 2.18 WHIP through 13.1 innings this spring. If he pitches well in the minors, Verrett could see some opportunities with the Orioles at some point in 2017.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Touched up by Phillies on Monday

Verrett pitched two innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out one in Monday's exhibition against the Phillies.

Verrett replaced starter Kevin Gausman in the fifth inning and immediately gave up a home run to the first batter he faced. After allowing two more hits in the frame, Verrett escaped severe damage by inducing a double play. The right-hander got two quick outs in the sixth but walked a pair before finishing his day. Verrett is considered an option to replace Chris Tillman (shoulder) in the team's Opening Day rotation. However, he's struggling to keep up with his competition, as Verrett has allowed eight hits and three free passes over six Grapefruit League innings for an ugly 1.83 WHIP.

  • Orioles' Logan Verrett: Competing for final rotation spot

Verrett is among the candidates to replace Chris Tillman (shoulder) in the rotation to open 2017, Rich Dubroff of Pressbox reports.

Tillman isn't expected to miss much time, but it may Verrett's only window of opportunity for quite a while. He'll compete with a handful of others that includes Tyler Wilson, Mike Wright and Gabriel Ynoa for the rotation's temporary opening. Verrett had terrible numbers in 12 starts for the Mets last season. He went 1-6 with a 6.45 ERA and 1.62 WHIP while opponents tagged the right-hander for a .916 OPS in those outings. The 26-year-old has had success as a starter in the minors, putting together a .686 winning percentage and a 3.93 ERA over five seasons. A good showing this spring could earn Verrett a chance not only to open 2017 as part of the rotation, but may also put him on the radar for future starts if others (specifically Ubaldo Jimenez and Wade Miley) stumble early in the campaign.
