Rays' David Rodriguez: Inks minor-league deal with Rays
Rodriguez signed a minor-league contract with the Rays on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rodriguez split time between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse during the 2021 campaign, and he hit .244 with six homers, 17 runs and 15 RBI across his 55 appearances in the minors last year. The deal did not include an invite to major-league spring training and he'll likely begin the season at Triple-A Durham.

Rodriguez was added to the Mets' player pool Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Depth behind the plate will be vital for teams this season, as an injury crisis there hurts far more than it does at other positions. Rodriguez will provide that, but he's unlikely to earn at-bats unless such a crisis occurs, as he's yet to reach the Triple-A level and has produced a below-average batting line in both of his stops at Double-A.

Mets' David Rodriguez: Invited to Mets' camp
Rodriguez has been invited to the Mets' spring training as a non-roster invitee, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
After serving in the Rays' organization, Rodriguez elected free agency at the end of the season and will now get the chance to develop in major-league spring training. The 23-year-old hit .225/.303/.366 with seven home runs over 78 games with Double-A Montgomery last season.
