Athletics' Hoy Park: Starting season in Triple-A
Park has been informed he will start the season at Triple-A Las Vegas, although the transaction has yet to be made official, Athletics team reporter Jessica Kleinschmidt relays.
Kleinschmidt adds that the move, when it does occur, won't be related to performance, but rather, a factor of Opening Day roster construction. The offseason addition swung a blistering bat all spring, and given the typically hitter-friendly conditions of the Pacific Coast League, Park could well put together a favorable enough body of work in the minors to earn a quick promotion to the big-league club.

Athletics' Hoy Park: Could break camp with team
Park, who's hitting .500 with one home run and nine RBI during Cactus League play, has an increased chance of making the Opening Day roster due to Miguel Andujar's knee injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Park has encountered little success against big-league arms during his 68-game majors stint with the Yankees and Pirates, yet he's been Oakland's best all-around hitter this spring. Park came into camp as a non-roster invitee after signing a minor-league deal in November, but Andujar's absence for the next several weeks opens up a spot on the 26-man roster. Manager Mark Kotsay has lauded Park for his stellar spring, and the 27-year-old's ability to play three infield spots and across the outfield could certainly buttress his case to break camp with the Athletics.

Athletics' Hoy Park: Nabs MiLB deal from Oakland
Park signed a minor-league deal with the Athletics on Nov. 20.
Park has previously seen action in 68 games in the majors with the Yankees and Pirates but spent the 2023 season exclusively at the Triple-A level in Atlanta's organization. Over 384 plate appearances with Gwinnett, Park slashed .262/.385/.379 with six home run and 17 stolen base. Park could have a better chance to resurface in the majors with an Athletics squad coming off a 112-loss season, but he's still more likely to open the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Braves' Hoy Park: Outrighted to Triple-A
Park cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.
Park has twice been traded this offseason after being designated for assignment, but this time he passed through waivers and will remain in the Atlanta organization. The 26-year-old will represent utility depth in the minors.

Braves' Hoy Park: DFA'd by Atlanta
Atlanta designated Park for assignment Wednesday.
After being sent from Boston to Atlanta via trade nearly two weeks ago, Park has been pushed off the 40-man roster following a trade that sends Eli White from Texas to Atlanta. Park has now been DFA'd three times this offseason, and he will likely get claimed by another team in search of a young infielder. He spent most of his time in Triple-A Indianapolis last season, slashing .225/.332/.354 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

Braves' Hoy Park: Dealt to Atlanta
Park was traded from the Red Sox to Atlanta on Friday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Park was dealt from the Pirates to the Red Sox in late November and will now be on the move again, joining Atlanta after less than a month with Boston. Park appeared in 23 games with the Pirates last season, producing a .216/.276/.373 slash line with two homers, six RBI, seven runs and a stolen base over 51 at-bats. The 26-year-old will likely start the season with Triple-A Gwinnett, but he'll be a top candidate for a call-up at some point this summer.

Red Sox's Hoy Park: Designated for assignment
Park was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Tuesday to clear space on the 40-man roster for Kenley Jansen, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Park showed excellent plate discipline in the minors, posting an 18.9 percent walk rate across parts of seven seasons, but that's yet to translate into success at the highest level. In 68 major-league games across the last two seasons, he's hit just .201/.291/.346. He may only need a modest step forward at the plate to become a viable big leaguer, as his defensive versatility makes him a good fit for a bench spot, but he doesn't currently do enough to have a firm grip on a 40-man roster spot. Tuesday's transaction comes just three weeks after he was designated for assignment by the Pirates and subsequently traded.

Red Sox's Hoy Park: Sent to Boston
Park was traded from the Pirates to the Red Sox on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Inmer Lobo, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Park was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh on Tuesday, and Boston decided to acquire him via trade rather than risk a waiver claim. The 26-year-old had a .649 OPS in 26 big-league games last season, and he spent most of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he produced a .225/.332/.354 slash line.

Pirates' Hoy Park: DFA'd by Pittsburgh
Park was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Tuesday.
Park played in 23 games for the Pirates last season and had a .216/.276/.373 slash line in 60 plate appearances. He was removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Lewin Diaz, who was claimed off waivers.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Sent back to Indy
The Pirates optioned Park to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Park's latest stay in the big leagues lasted just five days, with the 26-year-old seeing action in just one game. As a left-handed hitter, Park doesn't have much utility as a bench player for a Pirates team that already has ample left-handed bats. The righty-hitting Diego Castillo, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move, should offer the Bucs some more flexibility off the bench.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Returns to Pittsburgh
The Pirates recalled Park from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Park will join the 28-man active roster as a replacement for Josh VanMeter, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Though he has experience at three infield spots and all three outfield spots, the 26-year-old Park's career .202/.293/.348 slash line over 209 plate appearances in the majors makes him unlikely to get an extended look as an everyday player while he's up with Pittsburgh.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Heads to Indianapolis
The Pirates optioned Park to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Park and Tucupita Marcano lose their roster spots to make way for Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) and Ben Gamel (hamstring), who are both now active. Park has a .661 OPS and only four extra-base hits in 22 games this season, so he may have an extended stay with the Triple-A club.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Moves into bench role
Park is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
Park will sit for the third game in a row and has lost hold of an everyday role since Tucupita Marcano (illness) returned from the COVID-19-related injured list Friday. The Pirates are expected to get back two more position players -- Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) and Ben Gamel (hamstring) -- from the 10-day IL during the upcoming week, and Park could be a prime candidate to lose his spot on the 26-man active roster to create room for one of the two players.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Starting, but could lose work soon
Park will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Nationals.
Park remains in the starting nine for the seventh time in the last nine games, but his opportunities to play on a near-everyday basis should come to an end soon. Josh VanMeter (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday, and though he'll be starting at first base in place of a resting Michael Chavis in his return to the lineup, VanMeter is projected to see most of his work at second base moving forward. Like VanMeter, Tucupita Marcano (illness) is another lefty-hitting option at the keystone, and he should be on track for a return from the COVID-19-related IL by the end of the week. Park, who also bats from the left side, thus will become somewhat redundant at second base, and the Pirates don't appear to have an opening elsewhere around the diamond or in the outfield for the 26-year-old to play regularly.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Big day in loss to Tampa
Park went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Rays.
The steal was his first of the season while the homer was his second, and his fifth-inning blast off Jeffrey Springs completed a comeback from an early 3-0 deficit and wound up forcing extra innings. Park has started four of the last five games as the Pirates deal with numerous absences around the infield, but his .229/.275/.429 slash line through 41 plate appearances on the year suggests a repeat performance isn't likely any time soon.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Sitting out Thursday
Park is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Cubs.
Park has been the primary option at second base recently, but he will sit Thursday after going 0-for-8 with two RBI and a run scored in the first three games of the series. Diego Castillo will start in his place and bat third in the series finale versus Chicago.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Gets look as primary second baseman
Park will start at second base and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
Park will make his third consecutive start at the keystone and looks to have overtaken Diego Castillo and Yu Chang as the primary option at the position while Tucupita Marcano (illness) is on the COVID-19-related injured list and while Kevin Newman (groin) and Josh VanMeter (finger) are on the IL. Any of the three inactive players could be ready to go within a week, but until then, Park should play regularly versus right-handers. He's gone 3-for-11 with a home run and three RBI in six games since being called up from Triple-A Indianapolis last week.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Call-up official
The Pirates recalled Park from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Pittsburgh optioned reliever Aaron Fletcher to Triple-A to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Park, who has previously appeared in six games with the big club this season. While he's up with Pittsburgh, Park will likely serve as a utility man and doesn't have a clear path to everyday playing time at present.

Pirates' Hoy Park: Returning to majors
The Pirates plan to call up Park from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Park was in the Pirates' Opening Day lineup but was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis before the end of April, returning for just one day in late May. He went 3-for-14 with seven strikeouts during his brief time on the active roster and his merely above-average 109 wRC+ in 35 games for Indianapolis hardly suggests he's about to break out at the highest level.
