Ariel Jurado: Staying in Korea
Jurado has re-signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.
It seems likely that Jurado drew some interest from major-league clubs after he posted a 2.65 ERA and 147:41 over 183.2 innings for the Heroes in 2023. However, Kiwoom gave him $1.2 million guaranteed to stick around, a salary he surely wasn't getting in the states. The 27-year-old last pitched in the big leagues in 2020.

Mets' Ariel Jurado: Optioned off roster
Jurado was optioned to the Mets' alternate training site Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Mets' Ariel Jurado: Recalled prior to start
Jurado was recalled by the Mets prior to his scheduled start against the Orioles on Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Jurado joined the Mets via trade in early August and will make his debut with the team Tuesday. The right-hander carries a 5.85 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 177 innings in the majors, so he wouldn't seem to carry much fantasy upside heading into his first appearance with the Mets.

Mets' Ariel Jurado: Roughed up by Orioles
Jurado allowed five earned runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out two across four innings Tuesday against the Mets. He did not factor into the decision.
Jurado gave up all five of his earned runs in the first two innings, surrendering a three-run homer in the first frame. He did manage to settle in from there, retiring six of the last eight batters he faced. The outing was his debut with the Mets, and he was needed as a starter after the Mets played a doubleheader Sunday against the Yankees. It's unclear how the team will utilize him going forward.

Mets' Ariel Jurado: Starting Tuesday
Jurado will be recalled to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Jurado, who was acquired in a trade from the Rangers in early August after being designated for assignment, spent a day on the Mets' big-league roster Sunday but did not get into a game. With a 5.85 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 13.2 percent strikeout rate in 177 career major-league innings, expectations should be low for the 24-year-old.

Jurado was acquired from the Rangers in early August after being designated for assignment. Mets' Ariel Jurado: Shipped to Mets
Jurado was traded from the Rangers to the Mets in exchange for a player to be named later or cash Wednesday.
Jurado was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday but will remain on a 40-man roster, albeit for a different organization. He'll join the Mets' alternate training site for now. The 24-year-old righty owns a poor 5.85 ERA through 177 big-league innings, striking out just 13.2 percent of opposing batters, so the Mets would likely prefer to keep him in a low-leverage role.

Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Optioned to Triple-A
Jurado was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Jurado was going to need a lot of dominoes to fall in order for him to break camp with the Rangers, so him being optioned to Nashville does not come as a surprise. The right-hander remains a candidate to draw spot starts for Texas in 2020.

Jurado (shoulder) is at full strength again, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Jurado dealt with a mild bout of shoulder inflammation over the weekend but has been removed from the Rangers' medical report. It's unclear if Jurado's availability for Opening Day will be seriously threatened. The 24-year-old started 18 games last season and came out of the bullpen in 14 more, finishing with an uninspiring 5.81 ERA and a 15.0 percent strikeout rate.

Edinson Volquez got tagged for four runs in the first inning as the opener, but Jurado didn't fare much better as the Rangers' primary pitcher for the night.
