Rays' Danny Jansen: Battling rib injury
Jansen has been sidelined for the past several days due to a pulled rib muscle, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Jansen has had a really nice spring thus far, going 8-for-25 with two homers, four RBI and six runs scored in 11 games, though he hasn't played since Wednesday. Manager Kevin Cash said Saturday that the Rays hope to get Jansen into one of their final two spring training games, so it doesn't seem that the backstop's injury is anything significant.

Rays' Danny Jansen: Pops homer in spring debut
Jansen went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox.
Jansen has spent most of his time working with the pitching staff to begin spring training, though he homered in his first at-bat of the exhibition season. He was signed by the Rays this offseason in the hopes of bolstering the offense, and he should have the chance to top his career high of 324 plate appearances if he can remain healthy.

Rays' Danny Jansen: Nets one-year deal with Tampa Bay
The Rays agreed to a one-year, $8.5 million contract with Jansen on Friday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Murray notes that Jansen turned down multi-year offers from other teams, preferring to bet on himself on a one-year pact after a down 2024 campaign which saw him put up a .658 OPS over 92 games between the Blue Jays and Red Sox. Injuries have been a problem for Jansen, whose career high in games (107) and plate appearances (384) was established back in 2019. However, he's been an above-average offensive catcher for most of his career, particularly from 2021-23 when he put up an .805 OPS.

Red Sox's Danny Jansen: Smacks ninth home run
Jansen went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees.
Jansen accounted for Boston's only run Thursday with a solo homer off Nestor Cortes in the fifth inning. It was his ninth home run of the season and third since joining the Red Sox late in July. Playing time has been hard to come by for Jansen, as he's played behind Connor Wong at catcher and has just 59 at-bats in the Boston's 45 games since the trade.
