Garton has a 1.59 ERA, 0.44 WHIP, .103 BAA and .141 wOBA allowed over 11.1 innings across 12 appearances since joining the Mariners on Sept. 1.
The right-hander was traded to Seattle from the Rays on Aug. 6 and struggled upon arriving at Triple-A Tacoma, posting a 6.00 ERA over 12 innings. However, Garton has turned it around at the big-league level. His performance has been a notable improvement over his only other major-league stint, when he generated a 4.35 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with the Rays over 37 appearances in 2016.

Garton needed just nine pitches to dispose of the potent trio of Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and Josh Reddick. Garton was traded to the Mariners along with minor-league catcher Mike Marjama for minor-league pitcher Anthony Misiewicz, minor-league infielder Luis Rengifo and a player to be named later.
The 27-year-old Garton will assume a spot on the Mariners' 40-man roster, taking the spot of Tuffy Gosewisch, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Garton had previously yielded 10 runs in seven relief appearances with the Rays earlier this season but had been dominant at Triple-A Durham, recording a 1.64 ERA and 46 strikeouts over 33 innings. He'll head to the Pacific Coast League with his new organization, reporting to Triple-A Tacoma.

Rays' Ryan Garton: Lands on 7-day DL
Garton was placed on the 7-day disabled list with an undisclosed injury Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Garton had made just one appearance with Triple-A Durham since being sent down by the Rays earlier this month, but he has compiled a brilliant 0.52 ERA and 27 strikeouts over 17.1 innings in the minors this season. Unfortunately, the right-hander hasn't been able to translate that success to the majors, posting an 8.71 ERA over seven appearances with the Rays this year. A timetable for his return should be available once more information becomes known regarding his injury.

Garton was touched up by Todd Frazier for a 425-foot solo home run in the ninth that served as an insurance run for the White Sox. The bullpen was taxed Tuesday, going 6.1 innings in relief of Matt Andriese (groin), so the Rays added reinforcements in the form of Garton and Austin Pruitt.
