Yaisel Sierra: Let go by Dodgers
Sierra was released by the Dodgers on Thursday, freelance writer Francys Romero reports.
Los Angeles gave Sierra a six-year, $30 million contract back in 2016, but the Cuban right-hander hasn't panned out. Sierra pitched 16.1 innings for the organization's Triple-A club this season, posting a 13.78 ERA and 2.98 WHIP across 16.1 innings.

Dodgers' Yaisel Sierra: Recovering from shoulder injury
Sierra (shoulder) will begin the season at extended spring training, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Sierra is working his way back from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss all of last season. Farm directer Will Rhymes said the 27-year-old is "coming along," though he declined to offer up a timetable for Sierra's return. Once healthy, Sierra will likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Sierra was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.
Sierra has been masterful as a part of Double-A Tulsa's bullpen this season, sporting a 2.49 ERA and an 11.5 K/9 in 50.2 innings pitched. If he can carry that success into his time at Triple-A, he could end up getting a call to the big leagues before the season's end.

Sierra has been promoted to Double-A Tulsa, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.
Sierra, who was converted to a reliever in July, has pitched well in seven relief appearances at High-A Rancho Cucamonga, giving up only four runs in 14 innings. Double-A will be tough test for the 25-year-old, who has never pitched above High-A in the minors.

Sierra had a solid third pro start, tossing six scoreless innings with two hits allowed Tuesday for High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
The six scoreless lowered Sierra's ERA to 5.40 in 15 innings. He's been a bit wild with a 15:7 K:BB, but the 24-year-old could contribute in some capacity for the Dodgers in the second half.

Dodgers' Yaisel Sierra: Slated to make U.S. debut Friday
Sierra was added to Class-A Rancho Cucamonga's roster Wednesday and will make his U.S. debut as the starting pitcher in Friday's game, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
Sierra was expected to begin his tenure with the Dodgers organization as a reliever, but he'll make his debut as a starter nonetheless. The right-hander signed a six-year contract with the Dodgers this past January, so if he can impress during his time with the Quakes, he could move up to the higher levels of the minor leagues and possibly even contribute with the major league club by season's end, either as a starter or a reliever.
