Mets' Bryan Hudson: Traded to Mets
The Mets acquired Hudson from the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Hudson had been designated for assignment last week. The big left-hander spent much of 2025 in the minors and posted a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 15 frames during his time at the big-league level. However, he held a 1.73 ERA and 0.72 WHIP in 2024, so the Mets will try to coax that level of performance out of Hudson again.

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: DFA'd by ChiSox
The White Sox designated Hudson for assignment Wednesday.
The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Austin Hays, whose signing was made official Wednesday. Hudson was a key reliever for the Brewers in 2024, but he regressed in 2025, spending much of the year in the minors and collecting a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 15 frames during his time at the big-league level. The 6-foot-8 lefty doesn't have minor-league options remaining, but his 1.73 ERA and 0.72 WHIP from 2024 could be enough to garner some interest on the waiver wire.

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Out with lower-back strain
The White Sox placed Hudson on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a lower-back strain.
Hudson had been recalled earlier this week and made just one appearance before landing on the IL. He'll be eligible to return later this month, but any injury at this point has the potential to be a season-ender.

The White Sox recalled Hudson from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
The left-hander was up with Chicago for a couple days in early August after being claimed off waivers and will now receive another look in the majors. Hudson has made 15 appearances between the Brewers and White Sox this year and has a 5.14 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB over 14 innings.

Hudson was a valuable piece in the Milwaukee bullpen in 2024, posting a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB In 62.1 innings while collecting six wins and 14 holds in 43 appearances. However, he's noticed a slight drop in his fastball velocity in 2025 and had been pitching at Triple-A Nashville since mid-May after allowing five earned runs and walking 12 batters over 10.1 innings in the majors. The left-hander hasn't fared especially well at Nashville (6.84 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 25:12 K:BB in 25 innings), so he could go unclaimed off waivers despite being just one season removed from a dominant season in relief in the big leagues.

Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Heading back to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Hudson to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
Hudson was sent out to the minors to make room on the active roster for right-hander Logan Henderson, who was recalled from Nashville to make a spot start Wednesday against the Guardians. The lefty reliever was with the Brewers for less than a week after being promoted last Friday, making his lone appearance in Monday's 5-0 loss to Cleveland. Hudson allowed two earned runs in his final appearance of May, but he gave up only two all season prior to that, and he has not allowed any runs through eight frames in June. Add it all up and Hudson now owns a minuscule 0.90 ERA along with a 0.65 WHIP and 46:8 K:BB over 40 innings out of Milwaukee's bullpen.

Hudson (3-0) picked up the win Monday against the Cubs. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and no walks.
Hudson entered the seventh after Brewers starter Robert Gasser allowed consecutive singles to Seiya Suzuki and Cody Bellinger to begin the inning. The lefty reliever worked himself out of the jam, fanning two batters and inducing one popup.
