Marlins' Dax Fulton: Added to big-league bullpen
The Marlins recalled Fulton from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
Fulton has made five starts and two relief appearances with Jacksonville this season, collecting a 7.65 ERA and 24:11 K:BB over 20 frames. The southpaw will be used out of the bullpen and will be making his major-league debut if/when he gets into a game.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Opening season in minors
The Marlins optioned Fulton to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Fulton was one of seven players sent out of big-league camp in the Marlins' latest round of roster cuts. According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, the Marlins are planning for Fulton to continue getting stretched out as a starter at Jacksonville, but Miami manager Clayton McCullough suggested that the 24-year-old lefty's clearest path to contributing for the big club in 2026 might come as a multi-inning reliever.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Leaves big-league camp
The Marlins optioned Fulton to Double-A Pensacola on Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Fulton missed all of 2024 while recovering from his second career Tommy John surgery. His return to a competitive setting yielded promising results, as he'll finish the spring with two strikeouts over three scoreless innings. Once he proves he can remain both effective and healthy for an extended period of time, he could receive his first promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Faces hitters Thursday
Fulton (elbow) threw live batting practice to a number of hitters Thursday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
The extent of Fulton's throwing session isn't fully known, but the fact that he was facing hitters in the early stages of camp is a sign that he's healthy again after he missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from his second career Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in the summer of 2023. Despite the major red flags on his health record, the Marlins still protected Fulton from the Rule 5 Draft this winter and added him to their 40-man roster. The 23-year-old lefty isn't expected to be a factor in the majors anytime soon, as he'll need to prove his health and turn in quality results in the upper levels of the minors before he makes his big-league debut.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Joins 40-man roster
The Marlins selected Fulton's (elbow) contract from Double-A Pensacola on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Fulton was limited to 33 innings in 2023 and didn't pitch at all in 2024 while recovering from his second Tommy John surgery. The 23-year-old had the operation in June of 2023, so he should be healthy for the start of the 2025 season.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Likely out until 2025
Fulton will likely miss all of the 2024 season as he recovers from his second Tommy John surgery, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
It was initially reported in June of 2023 that Fultun was going for an internal brace procedure, but it turns out he had Tommy John surgery for the second time -- he also had it in September of 2019. Fulton had a career-worst 12.8 percent walk rate in 33 innings at Double-A last year, and now with off-the-charts durability risk, he may be forced to move to the bullpen when he returns in 2025.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Will undergo elbow surgery
Fulton will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, Barry Jackson and Craig Mish of the Miami Herald report.
It is not expected to be Tommy John surgery, which Fulton already had once back in 2019 as a high schooler. Rather, it sounds like Fulton will have an internal brace procedure which the Marlins hope will allow him to be ready for spring training next year. Fulton posted a 5.18 ERA in six appearances at Double-A Pensacola this season.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: On IL at Double-A
Fulton was placed on the 7-day injured list last week with Double-A Pensacola.
The 6-foot-7 southpaw underwent Tommy John surgery back in September 2019, and it's unclear what the nature of this current injury is. Fulton had struggled with walks (12.8 percent walk rate) through 33 innings across seven appearances for the Blue Wahoos.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Ends season on hot streak
Fulton put up a 3.00 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 21 innings following his late-season promotion to Double-A Pensacola.
While his results were a bit uneven in High-A (4.07 ERA, 1.43 WHIP), Fulton still missed plenty of bats (11.1 K/9) and got wickedly unlucky with a .383 BABIP. The pendulum swung the other way in his limited Double-A sample (.175 BABIP), and when all the luck evens out, we're left with a promising 20-year-old, 6-foot-7 lefty who seems to have both the stuff and the endurance to grow into a big-league starter.

Marlins' Dax Fulton: Moving up to Double-A
The Marlins promoted Fulton from High-A Beloit to Double-A Pensacola on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Fulton will make the jump to the Southern League after turning in a 1.73 ERA and 28:10 K:BB in 26 innings for Beloit over his five starts since the minor-league All-Star break. The 6-foot-7 lefty has struggled somewhat to keep his free passes in check at each stop of the minors thus far, but he's an imposing presence on the mound and has often flummoxed hitters with his plus curveball.
