  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Officially placed on 7-day IL

The Mariners placed Rodriguez (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Friday.

The move to the 7-day IL was an expected one once Rodriguez entered the league's concussion protocol following Thursday's game against the Angels. He's eligible to be reinstated from the IL on July 10, but whether Rodriguez returns before the All-Star break depends on how he progresses through concussion protocol. In a corresponding move, the Mariners selected Miles Mastrobuoni's contract from Triple-A Tacoma and transferred Cooper Criswell (shoulder) to the 60-day IL.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Expected to go on 7-day IL

The Mariners are expected to place Rodriguez on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez entered the league's concussion protocol following Thursday's game against the Angels, when he was removed after being hit in the back of the helmet by a throw from Nolan Schanuel in the first inning. Rodriguez will need to move through multiple checkpoints before being cleared of the concussion protocol but is eligible to be activated off the IL before the All-Star break. A corresponding move has yet to be announced, though Kremer notes that Miles Mastrobuoni has a locker ahead of Friday's series opener against the Blue Jays.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: In concussion protocol

Rodriguez is in concussion protocol and will be reevaluated Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez was plunked in the back of the helmet by a throw from Nolan Schanuel in the bottom of the first inning and was removed from the game in the third frame. If he's eventually diagnosed with a concussion, Rodriguez could be looking at a stay on the 7-day injured list. With Victor Robles (forearm) also dealing with an injury Thursday, Weston Wilson finished the game in the outfield for Seattle.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Exits early Thursday

Rodriguez was removed from Thursday night's contest against the Angels in the third inning after taking a blow to the head earlier in the game, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez took a 78.2 mph throw from Nolan Schanuel off the back of his helmet while advancing to second base on a ground ball in the bottom of the first inning. After he was able to remain in the contest for an additional frame, he was replaced in center field by Victor Robles in the top of the third. Rodriguez will likely undergo additional testing to determine if he suffered a concussion.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Three hits, two runs in win

Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Angels.

Rodriguez struggled in the middle of June, but he turned it around in the final week. He's on a seven-game hitting streak, a span in which he has gone 12-for-29 (.414). The one negative during his streak is a lack of power -- all 12 hits have been singles. For the season, Rodriguez is batting .259 with a .745 OPS, 14 home runs, 40 RBI, 46 runs scored, 15 doubles and 12 stolen bases over 86 contests.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Swats homer in loss

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Rodriguez homered in the ninth inning to keep the Mariners from getting shut out. It's encouraging that the 25-year-old was able to play the full game in center field after exiting Wednesday's contest due to hamstring spasms, which also forced him to sit Thursday. It's unclear if he'll get any rest in the coming days, but he should be good to handle a starting role in the long run. Friday's long ball was his first since June 2, and Rodriguez is now batting .249 with a .745 OPS, 14 homers, 37 RBI, 41 runs scored, nine stolen bases and 15 doubles over 76 games this season.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Returns to lineup Friday

Rodriguez (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Boston.

After exiting early from Wednesday's matchup and riding the pine on Thursday, Rodriguez is back in the lineup for the series opener against Boston on Friday. The 25-year-old will play center field and bat third for Seattle.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Taking seat Thursday

Rodriguez (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Baltimore.

Rodriguez was forced to make an early exit from Wednesday's game due to hamstring spasms, and he'll take a day off Thursday to recover. With both Rodriguez and Luke Raley (back) sitting with injuries, the Mariners will start Miles Mastrobuoni, Victor Robles and Dominic Canzone across the outfield.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Battling hamstring spasms

Rodriguez was pulled from Wednesday's game against Baltimore due to hamstring spasms, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Manager Dan Wilson said that Rodriguez's hamstring began to bother him after he made a leaping grab in center field, so the Mariners took him out of the game as a precaution. The team may err on the side of caution and hold him out of Thursday's series finale as well, though no decision has been made just yet.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Removed with injury

Rodriguez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Orioles with an apparent injury, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Logs two steals Sunday

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with two steals and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-4 loss to Detroit.

Rodriguez recorded both of his steals in the seventh inning before being brought home on an RBI single from Randy Arozarena. It was the second time in the series and the third time this season that Rodriguez logged two steals. He's up to nine steals on the year and is behind the pace needed to match his total from the 2025 regular season (30). Rodriguez is slashing .258/.316/.457 with 13 home runs, 32 RBI and 36 runs scored over 291 plate appearances this season.

Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two stolen bases in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Tigers.

The steals were Rodriguez's first since May 16, and he's up to seven on the season in nine attempts. The star center fielder has been doing more damage with his bat of late, and over his last 16 games he's slashing .284/.310/.627 with five doubles, six homers, nine runs and 12 RBI.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Homers in Tuesday's win

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Mets.

Rodriguez had gone 0-for-9 over the previous two games, his first set of consecutive hitless contests since May 14-15. He has homered four times over his last six games, driving in eight runs in that span. For the season, the outfielder is batting .259 with a .779 OPS, 13 homers, 32 RBI, 33 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases over 62 contests.

For the second game in a row, Rodriguez had multiple extra-base hits. He's homered in three straight contests and has gone 10-for-28 (.357) during a six-game hitting streak. The star outfielder is now batting .269 with an .801 OPS on the year, and he's added 12 homers, 30 RBI, 32 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases over 59 contests.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Homer, double in win

Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in Friday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks.

Rodriguez has gone 14-for-43 (.326) with four homers and nine RBI over his last 10 contests. He's been held hitless just once in that span, which has gotten his season numbers into his typical range of performance. Rodriguez is batting .265 with a .780 OPS, 11 long balls, 29 RBI, 31 runs scored, five stolen bases and 12 doubles through 58 games. He's not running as much this year, as he's logged just seven stolen-base attempts so far.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Up to 10 homers

    Rodriguez went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the A's.

Rodriguez put the finishing touches on Seattle's win with his three-run blast off Luis Medina in the eighth inning, extending the lead to 9-0. It's Rodriguez's 10th homer of the year and his second in four games. The outfielder is now slashing .258/.317/.437 with 30 runs scored, 27 RBI and five steals across 249 plate appearances on the season.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Mashes ninth homer in loss

Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Royals.

The All-Star center fielder is heating up at the dish, hitting safely in five of his last six games. Additionally, Rodriguez has picked up multiple knocks in three of his past four outings. He'll need to pick up the pace if he wants to record his fifth straight 20-steal campaign -- Rodriguez has just five thefts so far -- but the slugger is batting a healthy .260 with nine homers, 11 doubles, 23 RBI and 29 runs scored across 215 at-bats.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Swipes two bags Saturday

Rodriguez went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.

Rodriguez reached base just once, but he made the most of his eighth-inning single by stealing second and third base before coming around to score. The talented outfielder hadn't swiped a bag in any of his previous 18 contests, so his fantasy managers will likely hope that his pair of thefts kick off a stretch of more frequent running. Rodriguez holds a .255/.320/.415 slash line with seven homers, 20 RBI, 23 runs and five stolen bases through 47 contests on the campaign.
