Angels' Jose Soriano: Settles with Angels
Soriano (forearm) agreed to a one-year, $2.9 million contract with the Angels on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Soriano worked as a starter for the entirety of the 2025 season, though he landed on the injured list with a forearm contusion in mid-September. X-rays came back clean, so he'll presumably be ready to roll once spring training begins.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Lands on IL
The Angels placed Soriano on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right forearm contusion.
Soriano was taken out of his most recent start Wednesday after getting hit on the forearm by a comebacker. X-rays on his forearm came back negative, but the Angels will place him on the injured list anyway, putting an early end to his season. The 26-year-old will finish 2025 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.40 WHIP alongside a 152:78 K:BB across 169 innings. Sam Aldegheri was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Pulled with bruised forearm
Soriano was removed from his start Wednesday against the Brewers due to a right forearm contusion.
Soriano took a line drive off his forearm in the second inning of Wednesday's game, forcing him to be pulled after just 1.1 frames. He was charged with three earned runs and is likely headed toward his 11th loss of the season. X-rays on his forearm came back negative shortly after the incident, leaving the door open for him to make his next start.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Lasts four innings
Soriano allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision Thursday versus the Mariners.
Soriano gave up all four runs in the second inning, with an error allowing Seattle to extend its early rally. This was a better performance than his last start, but Soriano has allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over 6.1 innings in September and has given up four or more runs in four of his last seven starts. He's at a 4.13 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 152:76 K:BB through 167.2 innings over 30 starts this season. The 26-year-old's next outing is projected to be at Milwaukee, but it's worth noting he was pushed back a day for this turn through the rotation. With a number of the Angels' starters laboring, the team may consider going to a six-man unit to ease everyone's burden, though the pitching plans for the remainder of the season are not yet known.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Pushed back to Thursday
Soriano will make his next start Thursday in Seattle, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Soriano had been lined up to start Wednesday's series finale versus the Twins, but he will receive an extra day of rest after he had his worst start of the season his last time out, allowing eight runs over 2.1 innings in a loss to the Athletics this past Friday. Jose Urena worked five shutout innings of long relief behind Soriano on Friday and will now be called upon to make a spot start Wednesday.
