Peraza has now started in three consecutive games, but since all have come against left-handed pitching, it's unclear if he'll be given a look as the Yankees' primary third baseman while Jazz Chisholm (elbow) is on the injured list. Oswaldo Cabrera could still be the Yankees' preferred option at the position versus right-handed pitching.
Peraza went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-0 win over the Tigers.
Making his first start in the majors this year, Peraza extended New York's lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning with a solo shot off Brant Hurter. The 24-year-old slashed just .191/.267/.272 with two homers in 52 games with the Yankees last season, though he'd been swinging the bat well in Triple-A prior to his call-up, batting .291 with a 1.063 OPS and six homers in his last 15 contests. With Jazz Chisholm (elbow) sidelined, Peraza should see some playing time at third base down the stretch.

There's still no word yet on the seriousness of Chisholm's left UCL injury, but a trip to the 10-day injured list is a foregone conclusion. Peraza will join the big club as a replacement on the 26-man active roster for designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left hamstring strain. After opening the season on the IL with a shoulder injury sustained during spring training, Peraza joined the Yankees' Triple-A club on May 19 and had played there ever since, slashing .178/.313/.215 with one home run and four stolen bases in 128 plate appearances. Given that his production at Triple-A didn't necessarily warrant a call-up, Peraza is unlikely to serve as little more than a depth option for the Yankees while he's in the majors.

Peraza has been on the injured list since suffering a shoulder injury in February, but he began a rehab assignment May 7. The Yankees transferred Peraza (shoulder) from Single-A Tampa to Double-A Somerset on Friday.
Peraza went 2-for-5 with a homer, two walks and three runs in two games at Single-A and will now move his rehab assignment to the Double-A level. The 23-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in late February and was shut down in early March, so he likely still needs a significant number of at-bats in the minors before being cleared to come off the injured list.
Peraza (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Tuesday.
Peraza is finally ready to test things out in a game setting after working his way back from a right shoulder strain which he initially suffered back in late February. Given how much time he's missed, he will presumably require more than a handful of rehab games. Peraza also isn't a given to immediately be added to the big-league roster, although the status of DJ LeMahieu (foot) will be a factor.
