• Cardinals' Griffin Roberts: Debuts at Double-A

  Roberts (undisclosed) struck out a batter in a scoreless inning Saturday for Double-A Springfield after he was activated from the affiliate's 60-day injured list Friday. Roberts had resided on Springfield's IL all season after sustaining an apparent injury at some point during the spring. Before he was cleared to rejoin the Double-A club, Roberts made seven appearances between the Cardinals' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate and Single-A Palm Beach.

• Cardinals' Griffin Roberts: Placed on injured list

  Roberts was placed on the 60-day injured list for an unspecified reason Friday. While the nature of Roberts' injury isn't yet clear, he'll be forced to miss at least two months. He made just two appearances at Double-A Springfield in 2021.
