Phillies' Nick Snyder: Lands with Philly on MiLB deal
Snyder signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Monday.
Snyder did not pitch professionally in 2023, presumably because of an injury, but he logged six major-league appearances with the Rangers between 2021-22 and will look to get his career back on track in the Phillies' system.

Rangers' Nick Snyder: Returns on minor-league deal
Snyder signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday.
Snyder pitched just one inning early in the season for Texas before spending the rest of last year in Triple-A Round Rock. The right-hander has always been adept at striking out batters at a high rate, but his command and control problems have kept him from putting it all together in the big leagues.

Nick Snyder: Non-tendered by Rangers
The Rangers declined to tender Snyder a contract for 2023, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Snyder had a brief cup of coffee in April, but the vast majority of his time on the mound in 2022 came with Triple-A Round Rock. He made one start and 40 appearances out of the Round Rock bullpen, pitching to a 4.97 ERA and 51:18 K:BB in 38 innings. The right-hander will now get to test the waters of free agency.

Rangers' Nick Snyder: Recalled from Round Rock
Snyder was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Snyder spent a brief period in the big-league bullpen in mid-April, giving up two runs in one inning and walking three batters while striking out none across a pair of relief appearances. He's thrown 8.2 scoreless innings at the Triple-A level and owns a 36.4 percent strikeout rate, but he'll likely be stuck in low-leverage opportunities until he proves himself at the highest level.

Rangers' Nick Snyder: Hurls scoreless frame
Snyder walked one over a scoreless sixth inning in Friday's 9-6 loss to the Angels.
Snyder, who was called up Thursday after Dennis Santana (undisclosed) landed on the COVID-19 injured list, was part of the Rangers' bullpen day. He'll work in middle relief for now, but he could serve a larger role for a bullpen that ranks 28th in MLB with a 5.30 ERA.

Rangers' Nick Snyder: Recalled by Texas
Snyder was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Snyder was unable to break camp with the Rangers to begin the regular season, but he'll join the major-league bullpen after right-hander Dennis Santana (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Thursday. Snyder should serve mainly as a low-leverage reliever in the big leagues.

Rangers' Nick Snyder: Bound for minors
The Rangers optioned Snyder to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Snyder missed out on a spot in the Rangers' Opening Day bullpen in spite of an impressive spring in which he struck out four while allowing no runs and only one baserunner across four innings during Cactus League play. The 26-year-old has only a limited track record above the Double-A level, so Texas may want to see Snyder find sustained success at Round Rock before adding him to the big-league bullpen.

Snyder was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder fatigue Tuesday, retroactive to Sept. 4.
Snyder has made four relief appearances since his contract was selected in late August, and he's allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one in 3.2 innings. However, he'll be sidelined until at least mid-September due to his shoulder injury. His placement on the injured list makes room on the active roster for Spencer Howard (undisclosed), who was reinstated from the COVID-19 IL on Tuesday.
