Vientos went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-4 win against Cincinnati.
The Mets' third baseman opened the game's scoring when he laced a 368-foot, two-run homer off opener Fernando Cruz in the first inning. Vientos then capped the game's scoring when he cracked a walk-off, 401-foot, two-run blast in the 10th. The 24-year-old has been a significant source of power this season, as he's now slashing .289/.342/.563 with 24 homers, 62 RBI and 50 runs scored across 368 plate appearances in 91 games. Vientos now has multiple hits in four of his past five games.
Vientos isn't in the Mets' lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox.
After going 5-for-14 with an RBI during New York's last series against the White Sox, Vientos will get a chance to rest during Monday's series opener. Jose Iglesias will start at the hot corner instead and bat fifth.

Vientos took Jason Adam deep to center in the seventh inning for one of two extra-base hits the Mets had all afternoon. It's the third time in his last five games with multiple hits and he's now tied for fourth among all third basemen with 21 homers despite having just 332 plate appearances. Vientos has seen himself batting from the two-hole the last 10 games, and while he owns a .977 OPS over that span, he's also striking out 44.9 percent of the time compared to 24.7 percent before the lineup change. The 24-year-old is enjoying a breakout campaign, slashing .277/.334/.551 with 41 extra-base hits, 55 RBI, 44 runs and a 25:92 BB:K.

Vientos doubled home the Mets' first run of the game in the opening frame and later added a two-run single in the top of the ninth to extend his team's lead to four runs. It marked the second consecutive multi-hit effort for the third baseman and the fourth in his last eight games. Vientos also extended his hitting streak to 10 games with Thursday's performance, and he's now driven in at least one run in three straight.

Vientos had cooled off a bit after a hot start to his season. Thursday's performance was his first multi-hit game since July 26 -- he'd gone 10-for-50 (.200) in the following 15 contests heading into Thursday. Still, it's been an impressive campaign overall for Vientos, who's established himself as a regular in the Mets' lineup. He's now slashing .275/.333/.557 through 288 plate appearances with 19 homers, 48 RBI and 38 runs scored.
Vientos (ankle) will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game versus the Athletics.
Vientos missed the previous two contests with left ankle soreness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go Wednesday. The young infielder has struggled so far at the plate in August, going just 5-for-30.
