Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Goes three innings in debut
Bratt allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.
This was Bratt's major-league debut, and he performed well in a short start. The left-hander is still building up after a back injury sidelined him at Triple-A Reno for the first half of June. He had a 2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB over 44.1 innings with Reno. If Bratt gets another turn through the rotation, it's projected to be at home versus the Giants next week. He's unlikely to be fully stretched out for that game after throwing just 54 pitches (36 strikes) in his Arizona debut.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Going back to minors
The Diamondbacks will option Bratt to Triple-A Reno prior to Thursday's game in St. Louis, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Bratt had a solid abbreviated major-league debut Wednesday versus the Cardinals, yielding one run over three innings of work. The left-hander is not fully stretched out yet after recently returning from injury at Reno, so he will continue to rebuild his stamina at the team's top minor-league affiliate. Brandon Pfaadt will enter the Arizona rotation in Bratt's place.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Recalled ahead of MLB debut
The Diamondbacks recalled Bratt from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Bratt is set to make his major-league debut Wednesday in St. Louis with a start against the Cardinals. The left-hander was added to the 40-man roster over the offseason and earned his first big-league promotion after posting a 2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB over 44.1 innings covering 11 starts this season with Reno. Bratt recently returned from injury and threw only 48 pitches over four frames in his most recent start, so it's unlikely he'll be ready for a full allotment of pitches Wednesday.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Poised for MLB debut Wednesday
Bratt has joined the Diamondbacks' taxi squad and is expected to be called up from Triple-A Reno to make his major-league debut Wednesday in St. Louis, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Bratt has logged a 2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB over 44.1 innings covering 11 starts this season with Reno. The left-hander recently returned from a brief stint on Reno's 7-day injured list due to a back injury and threw just 48 pitches over four frames in his most recent start last Wednesday, so he won't have a full workload at his disposal in St. Louis. Bratt is filling the rotation spot vacated by Michael Soroka (glute), and Bratt could receive at least one additional start beyond Wednesday while Soroka recovers.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Sent to Triple-A
The Diamondbacks optioned Bratt to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Bratt was added to the 40-man roster in November but has yet to pitch at the Triple-A level, so he was never a likely bet to begin the campaign in the majors. The 22-year-old lefty may not have to wait too long to make his MLB debut, however, especially if he can duplicate the 3.38 ERA and 10.9 K/9 he produced at the Double-A level last year.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Joins 40-man roster
The Diamondbacks selected Bratt's contract from Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday.
Bratt joined the D-backs organization from the Rangers at the trade deadline as part of the return for Merrill Kelly. After reporting to Amarillo, Bratt turned in a 3.98 ERA and 1.15 WHIP alongside a 42:5 K:BB across 31.2 innings (six starts). His addition to the 40-man roster will keep him in the organization beyond December's Rule 5 Draft, but he's likely to begin the 2026 campaign with Amarillo or Triple-A Reno.

Diamondbacks' Mitch Bratt: Heading to Arizona
The Diamondbacks acquired Bratt, left-hander Kohl Drake and right-hander David Hagaman from the Rangers on Thursday exchange for right-hander Merrill Kelly, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
A 22-year-old lefty with excellent control, Bratt has a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 106:16 K:BB in 90.2 innings at Double-A Frisco this season. His 4.3 percent walk rate is the third-best mark among qualified Double-A pitchers, and while his fastball typically sits in the lower 90s, he has a full repertoire and could make the big leagues as a No. 3 or No. 4 starter.

Rangers' Mitch Bratt: Tough first taste of Double-A
Bratt logged a 5.45 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 33:12 K:BB in 33 innings over seven appearances for Double-A Frisco.
He wasn't as bad as his ERA, as 54.2 percent of his baserunners scored, but Bratt's walk rate jumped from 5.3 percent at High-A to 8.2 percent at Double-A while his strikeout rate dipped from 27.8 percent to 22.4 percent. Bratt's 22.5 K-BB% was the ninth-best mark among High-A pitchers who threw at least 70 innings, leading to his promotion to Double-A at the end of July. Bratt lacks high-end stuff, so he needs to be commanding his pitches to have success. Youth is working in his favor, however, as Bratt was the seventh-youngest pitcher with at least 30 innings at Double-A this year.

Rangers' Mitch Bratt: Sidelined at High-A
Bratt was placed on High-A Hickory's 7-day injured list June 18 with an unspecified injury.
The Canadian-born lefty compiled a 3.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 65:16 K:BB over 56.1 innings for Hickory before being shut down six weeks ago. The Rangers haven't provided word regarding the nature of his injury or insight into whether he'll have a chance at pitching again in 2023.
