Angels' Ryan Costeiu: Back in action at High-A
Costeiu (elbow) has given up two earned runs on one hit and five walks while striking out five over 6.1 innings in two appearances for High-A Tri-City since returning from the 7-day injured list May 14.
Costeiu missed the first month of the minor-league season while completing his recovery from right elbow surgery. The 23-year-old right-hander made one rehab appearance in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 6 before he was advanced to the Northwest League.

Angels' Ryan Costeiu: Not ready for game action
Costeiu (elbow) is on the injured list at High-A Tri-City, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.
He had Tommy John surgery in July of 2022 but still isn't ready for game action. Given that he is 20 months removed from the surgery, Costeiu should be ready soon unless he's experienced a setback. The 23-year-old righty had a 3.42 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 81 strikeouts in 68.1 innings at High-A in 2022.

Angels' Ryan Costeiu: Done for season
High-A Tri-City placed Costeiu (elbow) on its full-season injured list April 6.
Costeiu was shut down last July with a right elbow injury, and though the Angels haven't revealed whether he required Tommy John surgery or another kind of procedure, his placement on the full-season IL would seem to suggest that's a strong likelihood. Before sustaining the injury last summer, Costeiu turned in a 3.42 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 81:19 K:BB across 68.1 innings.

Angels' Ryan Costeiu: Out with elbow injury
Costeiu is out indefinitely with an elbow injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.
The injury was originally reported as an oblique issue, but Mayo says the injury that sidelined Costeiu last July was an elbow issue that has not yet been resolved. A 6-foot righty, Costeiu has an excellent fastball/changeup combination that could fit in a middle relief or swing man role down the line. He would likely head to Double-A Rocket City once healthy, but it's also possible this issue leads to season-ending surgery.
