Player Outlook
Santiago Suarez missed over three months in the middle of the season with triceps and shoulder tightness, but surrounding that injury he logged a 3.14 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 54:8 K:BB in 51.2 innings across High-A and Triple-A. Long known for his advanced control and ability to handle aggressive minor-league assignments, Suarez logged a 3.8 percent walk rate last year, including a 4.7 percent walk rate in 11 innings at Triple-A, and he turned 21 this offseason. His stuff is a little behind his control, but Suarez isn't a soft tosser. The 6-foot-2 righty sits in the mid-90s and touches 97 mph with his fastball, which has decent life. Suarez's plus upper-80s cutter is his best secondary pitch, and his curveball gets the job done against southpaws. He threw a career-high 111.2 innings in 2024 and will look to approach that range again while working in the upper minors in 2026.
