  • Phillies' Felix Reyes: Contract selected

The Phillies selected Reyes' contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Reyes has gotten off to a strong start at Lehigh Valley, slashing .333./.345/.654 with six homers, 15 RBI and 12 runs scored through 84 plate appearances. The 25-year-old has experience at first and third base as well as the corner outfield positions, so he'll replace the struggling Otto Kemp as Philadelphia's bench utility player. Reyes will be making his MLB debut while starting in left field Saturday against Atlanta.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Kemp to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Kemp has appeared in 10 games for the Phillies this season, during which he's managed just a .282 OPS through 22 plate appearances. He'll head back to the minors to get back on track, and Felix Reyes will come up from Triple-A to fill the open roster spot.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Ready for spring opener

Kemp (kneecap, shoulder) will start in left field and bat cleanup in Saturday's Grapefruit League opener against the Blue Jays, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Kemp underwent a pair of surgeries in the offseason, one to repair a fracture in his left kneecap and another to clean out damage to his left shoulder. He seems to be a full-go this spring, and the 26-year-old appears slated to fill a super-utility role for Philadelphia after appearing at four different positions as a rookie (third base, first base, second base and left field).

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Set for two sugeries

Kemp will undergo surgery this offseason to repair a fracture in his left knee cap and an additional operation to clean out damage to his left shoulder, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Kemp chipped a piece of bone when he fouled a ball off his knee cap June 17, but he missed only one game and then played though the injury for the remainder of the season. He also evidently played with a shoulder issue, though it's unclear when he first injured it. Kemp slashed .234/.298/.411 with eight homers and two steals over 62 games in the majors in 2025 and posted a .987 OPS with 16 home runs and 13 stolen bases at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. It's not clear when the surgeries will occur, nor is known how long his rehab will take. The Phillies appear to view the 26-year-old as more than just a bench player, though it's uncertain where exactly he fits into the team's 2026 plans. Kemp made starts at third base, first base, second base and left field for the Phillies this season.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Drawing start in left field

Kemp will start in left field and bat ninth Monday in Game 2 of the NLDS versus the Dodgers.

With Harrison Bader (groin) out of the lineup, Brandon Marsh will shift to center field and Kemp will enter the fray in left field. It will be the postseason debut for Kemp, who slashed .234/.298/.411 with eight home runs in 62 regular-season contests for the Phillies.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Launches sixth homer in win

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in a 6-4 win over the Mets on Thursday.

Kemp smashed his sixth homer of the year, tying a season high in RBI as well. As long as Alec Bohm (shoulder) remains on the injured list, Kemp should remain Philadelphia's primary third baseman. Through the first 158 at-bats of his career, Kemp is batting .241 with eight doubles, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored and two stolen bases.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Homers, steals bag

Kemp went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's win against the Mets.

Kemp's solo shot in the second inning was his fifth of the year and first since July 27. He was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday and has since started two games at third base. Kemp is seemingly the everyday option at the hot corner while Alec Bohm (shoulder) is out. Kemp is slashing .233/.310/.380 with 12 extra-base hits through 48 MLB games.
