  • Yankees' Sean Paul Linan: Dealt to New York

The Yankees acquired Linan from the Nationals on Sunday in exchange for infielder Jorbit Vivas.

Vivas wasn't in line to make the Opening Day roster and was out of minor-league options, so the Yankees opted to cash him in for an intriguing young arm in Linan. The 21-year-old right-hander spent time at three levels between the Dodgers and Nationals organizations in 2025, logging a 3.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 106:33 K:BB in 77.1 innings. With his new organization, Linan is likely to open the 2026 campaign at either Double-A Somerset or High-A Hudson Valley.

  • Nationals' Sean Paul Linan: Traded to Nationals

Linan was traded from the Dodgers to the Nationals on Thursday along with Eriq Swan in exchange for Alex Call, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Linan put up silly numbers at Single-A to start the year (1.21 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 29.2 innings) and has been excellent after a promotion to High-A, where he has a 2.65 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 39 strikeouts in 37.1 innings. Linan's changeup is easily his best pitch, and he could run into more trouble in the upper levels.

  • Dodgers' Sean Linan: Scoreless High-A debut

Linan gave up two hits and a walk while striking out three over four scoreless innings in his debut for High-A Great Lakes on Sunday.

A Colombian righty with a changeup that's already at least a plus pitch, Linan dominated Single-A hitters to the tune of a 1.21 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 50:10 K:BB in 29.2 innings to start his age-20 campaign. His low-90s fastball and mid-80s slider will be tested now that he's at High-A.
