Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Hot spring at plate continues
Langeliers went 1-for-3 with a home run in Friday's spring training win over Kansas City. He's hitting .316 (12-for-38) with two home runs this spring.
Langeliers is set to return as the starting catcher and could improve upon the 29 home runs and .738 OPS he posted last season with the move to a more hitter-friendly home park.

Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Connects for three-run shot in loss
Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in an extra-inning loss to the Mariners on Saturday.
Langeliers erased a 4-3 deficit in the ninth inning via a two-out, 357-foot shot off Collin Snider with Max Schuemann and JJ Bleday aboard to give the Athletics a temporary 6-4 lead. It was the slugging backstop's first homer in eight games and put him at 29 for the season, while also pushing his September RBI total to an impressive 16 over 23 contests. It's been a season of across-the-board improvement for Langeliers at the plate, and all three components of his .224/.288/.450 slash line heading into the final day of the regular season qualify as career bests.

Langeliers crossed home plate both times on base, scoring on Tyler Soderstrom's first-inning double and Zack Gelof's sixth-inning go-ahead sacrifice fly. The hot-hitting backstop is finishing the regular season on a tear, as he now boasts a six-game hitting streak as well as nine extra-base hits, 14 RBI and an .825 OPS across the 88 plate appearances covering his last 23 games.

Langeliers went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.
Langeliers extended his hitting streak to five games with Sunday's single, a stretch during which he's hitting .412 (7-for-17) with a double, two home runs, four RBI, three walks and three runs. The slugging backstop has already set career highs in total extra-base hits (47), home runs (28), RBI (75), walks (38) and runs (55), and he's even established a new personal best in stolen bases (four) for good measure.

Langeliers went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.
Both blasts came off Jordan Wicks, as Langeliers launched a two-run homer in the first inning and a solo shot in the fifth. The 26-year-old has only three hits in his last 20 at-bats, but all three have left the yard. On the season, Langeliers is slashing .220/.280/.448 with 28 homers, 74 RBI, 54 runs and four stolen bases.

Langeliers entered Sunday's loss to the White Sox in the ninth inning as a pinch hitter and hit a solo home run in his only at-bat.
Langeliers had ceded catching duties to Kyle McCann to open the day, yet he was able to come through off the bench with his 26th homer of the season. The round tripper got the Athletics to within one run, but the rally stagnated at that point. Langeliers snapped a 10-game extra-base-hit drought with the timely blast, as well as a brief 0-for-13 skid that had encompassed his last three games.
