Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Blasts first spring homer
Langeliers went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, three total RBI, an additional run scored and was hit by a pitch in Sunday's Cactus League win over the Reds.
Langeliers opened the scoring, launching an Andrew Abbott curveball to the opposite field for a two-run homer in the first inning before following it up with a blistering 111.8 mph RBI double to left field in the third inning. Through 14 plate appearances this spring, the catcher is slashing .333/.429/.750 with two doubles, one homer and three RBI. Coming off a breakout 2025 campaign in which he posted an .861 OPS with 32 doubles and 31 homers across 123 games, the 28-year-old will look to carry that momentum into the 2026 regular season.

Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Settles with A's
Langeliers signed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with the Athletics on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Langeliers emerged as one of the top bats in the Athletics' lineup in 2025 while slashing .277/.325/.536 with 31 homers, 72 RBI, 73 runs scored and seven steals across 123 contests. He'll take a $4.48 million raise into his fifth MLB season as a result while maintaining a firm grip on the starting catcher job in Sacramento.

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
The 76-85 Athletics have little at stake in the season finale and will allow Langeliers to get some rest after he had started each of the last five contests. The 27-year-old backstop will finish his fourth MLB campaign with a .277/.325/.536 slash line, 31 home runs, seven stolen bases, 73 runs and 72 RBI in 123 games.

Langeliers went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.
Langeliers brought the Athletics within a run with an RBI double in the eighth inning. The catcher has doubled in four straight games, each of which have been multi-hit efforts for him. He's batting .354 (28-for-79) in September, a hot stretch that has lifted his season slash line to .277/.325/.536 across 123 contests. Langeliers has added 31 home runs, 72 RBI, 73 runs scored, 32 doubles and seven stolen bases in a breakout campaign that cements him among the upper tier of catchers in the majors.

Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Logs four more hits Thursday
Langeliers went 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored during the Athletics' 11-5 loss to the Astros on Thursday.
Langeliers maintained his hot streak at the plate by collecting four hits for a second consecutive game and combined with Nick Kurtz for seven of the Athletics' 12 hits in Thursday's loss. Langeliers' efforts over his last two games has improved his season-long batting average to .271 over 514 plate appearances, and his stats since the All-Star break have been especially impressive, as he's batting .319/.360/.646 with 19 home runs and 39 RBI over 55 games. The 27-year-old catcher will look to end the 2025 season on a high note during the Athletics' three-game weekend home series against the Royals.

Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Collects four hits in victory
Langeliers went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI in Wednesday's 6-0 win against Houston.
The Astros were unable to get Langeliers out, as he fell a triple shy of the cycle. The talented backstop notched an RBI with a ground-rule double in the fifth inning and later belted a solo homer to left field in the seventh. Langeliers had been struggling a bit coming into the contest, but he's enjoyed a marvelous second half overall, batting .308 with 19 homers, 17 doubles, 43 runs, 39 RBI and three stolen bases over 54 games since the All-Star break.
