Sanchez (14-4) earned the win Saturday against the Orioles, allowing no runs on two hits and five walks in six innings. He struck out 11.
Although the five walks matched a season high, Sanchez danced around trouble in a scoreless start and recorded his second-most strikeouts of the season. It was an encouraging beginning to the month of August for the All-Star southpaw, who surrendered 16 earned runs over 21.2 innings during July en route to posting a 6.65 ERA and 1.85 WHIP during the month. Sanchez is set to bring a strong 2.61 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 168:33 K:BB across 144.2 innings into a tough assignment against an upstart Nationals lineup his next time out.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Picks up 13th win
Sanchez (13-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over six innings against the Yankees. He struck out six.
Sanchez surrendered three runs in the fifth inning but received ample run support to pick up his 13th win. The southpaw has put together a lackluster July, posting a 6.65 ERA and 1.85 WHIP across 21.2 innings (four starts), though much of the damage came during a July 6 outing against the Royals in which he surrendered nine runs. Overall, the 29-year-old has been stellar this season, pitching to a 2.73 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 157:28 K:BB over 138.2 innings (22 starts). Sanchez is tentatively slated to make his next start Saturday versus the Orioles.

Sanchez (12-4) earned the win Monday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.
Sanchez kept a vaunted Dodgers lineup in check for one run over his first five innings, but Los Angeles chased him from the outing with a two-run sixth frame. The All-Star southpaw has been a bit erratic as of late, coughing up at least three runs in four of his last seven starts, but he has spun at least six innings while yielding two runs or fewer in the other three. Sanchez is set to bring a 2.71 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 151:25 K:BB over 132.2 innings into another tough matchup against the Yankees this weekend.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Not starting this weekend
Sanchez will not make a start during this weekend's series with the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Philadelphia will start Aaron Nola on Thursday followed by Jesus Luzardo and Alan Rangel on Saturday and Sunday. By pushing Sanchez and Zack Wheeler back in the rotation, it will allow the duo to start the first two games of next week's three-game set with the Dodgers. Firmly in the mix for the NL Cy Young award, Sanchez pitched to an 11-4 record, 2.62 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 144:25 K:BB during the first half of the season. He also started the All-Star Game for the National League but was roughed up for three runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in his lone inning.

It was the second game in a row (and fourth time this season) that Sanchez gave up double-digit hits. Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Yields career high in runs
Sanchez (10-4) took the loss against the Royals on Monday, allowing nine runs on 12 hits and one walk while striking out one batter across 3.1 innings.
Sanchez entered Monday's start with a 2.00 ERA, which was second-best in the majors behind Jacob Misiorowski (1.47). However, Sanchez was not his usual self in Kansas City, putting his team in a huge hole by giving up six runs in the first inning, capped off by a three-run homer by Luke Maile. Sanchez proceeded to give up one run in each of the next three frames before exiting in the fourth after giving up a career-high nine runs. The 29-year-old southpaw now sits at a 2.62 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 137:24 K:BB across 120.1 innings this season. Sanchez's next start is slated for this weekend on the road against the Tigers, which will be his last turn in the rotation before the All-Star break.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Blanks Bucs for win No. 10
Sanchez (10-3) picked up the win Tuesday, scattering three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in an 8-0 rout of the Pirates. He struck out nine.
The southpaw became the first starting pitcher in the majors this season to reach double-digit wins, although the Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski joined him later Tuesday night, and Brewers reliever Aaron Ashby has an MLB-leading 11 victories. Sanchez fired 66 of 92 pitches for strikes in a dominant performance that wasn't even derailed by a small cut on the top of his left thumb he picked up in the second inning. Over 11 starts and 76.2 innings since the beginning of May, Sanchez has dialed up a 1.53 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 86:10 K:BB to emerge as one of the frontrunners for the NL Cy Young Award. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Kansas City.

Washington took it to Sanchez right away with four runs in the first inning, but the hurler settled in afterwards with four innings of one-run ball. The All-Star southpaw has now worked at least five frames in all 17 starts so far, and he's tied with Sandy Alcantara for the major-league lead with 110 innings on the year. Sanchez has been excellent otherwise in 2026, as he's set to carry a 2.13 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 127:21 K:BB into his next scheduled start at home versus an upstart Pirates lineup.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Cruises to ninth win
Sanchez (9-3) earned the win against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings.
Backed by an offensive outburst by the Phillies, Sanchez cruised to a quality-start victory. He surrendered a solo homer in the fourth inning but was otherwise fantastic, throwing 61 of 91 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs. It was a nice response after the southpaw allowed four runs Sunday, and he's now logged a quality start in nine of his past 10 outings. He'll take a 1.80 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 121:20 K:BB across 105 innings this season into a road matchup against the Nationals next week.
