  • White Sox's Zach DeLoach: Pair of doubles in win

DeLoach went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored during Thursday's 7-0 win over the Angels. Thursday's outing marked DeLoach's first career multi-hit game as the outfielder entered the contest slashing .170/.241/.208 in 58 plate appearances. However, the 25-year-old rookie has improved significantly at the plate during his current MLB stint, going 8-for-25 (.229) with five runs and three RBI in 10 games.

  • White Sox's Zach DeLoach: Gets call from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled DeLoach from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Mets. He entered the game as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the eighth and grounded out in his lone at-bat. DeLoach is back up with the White Sox for the third time this season after going 3-for-22 with a 3:9 BB:K between his previous two stints. As a left-handed batter, DeLoach won't be a candidate for a platoon role, and he likely won't be in the mix for regular at-bats against right-handed pitching either while all of Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert and Dominic Fletcher are healthy and available.

  • White Sox's Zach DeLoach: Joining big club Sunday

The White Sox will recall DeLoach from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. DeLoach went just 3-for-22 with one RBI in nine games during his brief stints in the majors in May and June, though he's slashed .288/.373/.435 across 220 plate appearances in Triple-A since his last MLB game. He'll likely be used off the bench once he rejoins the White Sox, though he could make an occasional start in one of the corner outfield positions.

Even with a number of injuries in the White Sox's outfield, DeLoach is likely to continue to see only sporadic playing time.

  • White Sox's Zach DeLoach: Expected to be recalled

The White Sox will recall DeLoach from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Wednesday's game in Toronto, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He could be taking the roster spot currently occupied by Eloy Jimenez, who injured his hamstring in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Blue Jays and might be headed to the injured list. DeLoach, 25, was acquired from the Mariners over the offseason and has slashed .269/.361/.351 with two home runs and eight stolen bases over 37 games this season with Charlotte. He can play all three outfield spots and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • White Sox's Zach DeLoach: Sent to White Sox

The Mariners traded DeLoach, Prelander Berroa and the 69th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft to the White Sox on Saturday in exchange for Gregory Santos (elbow), Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. DeLoach spent all of 2023 with the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate and found quite a bit of success at the plate with a .286/.387/.481 slash line to go with 23 homers and 88 RBI. DeLoach has served primarily as a right fielder during his minor-league career, putting him in position to compete with Gavin Sheets, Dominic Fletcher and Kevin Pillar for a job in right field during spring training.

The Mariners promoted DeLoach from High-A Everett to Double-A Arkansas on Monday. DeLoach will join fellow outfielder and top prospect Julio Rodriguez in Arkansas after bashing nine home runs and hitting .313 over 58 games at Everett. The 2020 second-round pick is lauded for his advanced approach at the plate, which was evident in his strong walk rate (11.4 percent) and manageable strikeout rate (22.1 percent) over his 285 plate appearances with the High-A club.
