Rangers' Justin Foscue: Sitting in third straight game
Foscue is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Foscue had an opportunity to pick up regular at-bats after Corey Seager (hip) was placed on the injured list last week, but the Rangers have seemingly pulled the plug on the rookie. He'll hit the bench for the third game in a row while Ezequiel Duran has emerged as the preferred option for the lineup spot vacated by Seager.

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Not starting against righty
Foscue is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Though he was deployed at designated hitter both of the past two days when the Angels sent left-handed starters to the hill, the right-handed-hitting Foscue will hit the bench for a fourth straight matchup with a right-hander (Caden Dana). Even with the recent move of Corey Seager (hip) to the injured list opening up a spot in Texas' everyday lineup versus righties, the Rangers seem inclined to rotate a number of players at DH rather than committing to Foscue in a full-time role.

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Starts at first base
Foscue started at first base and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning win over Oakland.
While the Rangers have not yet been eliminated from the postseason, the club faces a long haul -- 9.5 games back of the third wild-card spot -- over the final month. That suggests opportunities for prospects like Foscue, who could get some run at first base ahead of Nathaniel Lowe, whose contract expires this offseason.

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Back in big leagues
The Rangers recalled Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Foscue went just 1-for-17 with seven strikeouts during his most recent stint in the majors in late July. However, he's bounced back nicely since then, putting up a .964 OPS alongside six homers and 18 RBI across 117 plate appearances in Triple-A. He'll have a hard time carving out playing time behind Marcus Semien and Josh Smith, though he could be used occasionally as a designated hitter against left-handers.
