Raptors' Brandon Ingram: Set for checkup in 10 days
The Raptors announced Sunday that Ingram (ankle) is progressing and will be re-evaluated in approximately 10 days, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Due to a significant left ankle sprain, Ingram made his final appearance for the Pelicans on Dec. 7 before being traded to the Raptors on Feb. 6. With the Raptors out of the playoff mix, it's unclear if the veteran wing will debut for his new team this season. Toronto inked Ingram to a two-year, $78 million contract extension less than a week after acquiring him, so even if he doesn't suit up over the next three weeks, he'll be in line for a key role for the Raptors next season.

Lewenberg adds that Ingram remains without a timetable to return to game action or even practice while he continues to recover from a significant left ankle sprain, which has kept him from playing since Dec. 7. Ingram appears unlikely to make it back on the court at any point in March, and with the Raptors out of the mix for a playoff spot, it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't make his team debut until the 2025-26 season.

Raptors' Brandon Ingram: Timeline for return still uncertain
Head coach Darko Rajakovic said Feb. 25 that Ingram is still rehabbing his sprained left ankle and remains without a clear timeline to make his Raptors debut, Adam Laskaris of BlogTO.com reports. "We're breaking down his recovery and this plan into two-week chunks, and every two weeks, we're going to give an update how he's doing, how he's progressing," Rajakovic said of Ingram.
Ingram sustained the severe ankle sprain Dec. 7, in what marked his final appearance with the Pelicans before he was traded to the Raptors on Feb. 6. Though Toronto inked Ingram to a two-year, $78 million contract extension less than a week after acquiring him, it's not clear if the 27-year-old wing is in line to make his team debut at any point this season. With a 19-42 record, the Raptors sit five games behind the Bulls for the final spot in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament, so the organization is presumably inclined to proceed cautiously with Ingram until he's 100 percent recovered from the ankle sprain. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues with minimal injured reserve slots who are still holding Ingram may be better served using that roster spot on a healthy option while he remains without a definitive target date to resume playing.

Ingram (ankle) remains without a precise target date for making his Raptors debut, but the veteran forward isn't projected to play for at least a month, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.com reports.
Before the Pelicans traded Ingram to the Raptors last week, reports on his progress had been few and far between since he suffered a high-grade left low ankle sprain in a Dec. 7 loss to the Thunder. The Raptors haven't provided concrete updates on Ingram's status in the week since they acquired him. Still, the team's decision to sign him to a three-year, $120 million contract extension would seem to suggest that the organization's isn't too concerned about his long-term outlook. With the Raptors sitting at 17-38 heading into the All-Star break, the team won't rush Ingram back into action until they're fully confident in his health. A firmer target date for his return should emerge once he's cleared to participate in practices, but for now, fantasy managers should expect his absence to extend into March.

This is a considerable vote of confidence from Toronto and will prevent Ingram from hitting free agency during the offseason. The third year of the deal includes a player option, and it appears that the Raptors will structure their rebuild around Ingram and Scottie Barnes. Ingram is currently sidelined by an ankle sprain and doesn't have a clear timetable for a return.
