  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Scores team-high 20 points

Simons provided 20 points (7-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist over 31 minutes during Thursday's 110-101 loss to the Raptors. Simons recorded a team-high 20 points, tallying at least 20 points for the third time in five games since arriving in Chicago. While he has been able to get back to doing what he does best, his peripheral production remains largely underwhelming. Jaden Ivey was seemingly a healthy DNP-CD Thursday, a fate that could certainly befall Simons at some point in the near future. He is worth rostering in most leagues, although managers should be prepared for some unpredictable shifts in playing time.

  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Strong line in loss

Simons ended with 23 points (10-17 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one block over 34 minutes during Monday's 123-115 loss to the Nets. Simons is on an expiring contract and is basically doing an audition ahead of free agency. He's been heavily utilized in his first two games with the Bulls, posting a dud prior to this outburst. It will be interesting to see how this rotation shapes up once Josh Giddey (hamstring) is healthy after the All-Star break.

  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Scores 22 points in Chicago debut

Simons posted 22 points (8-15 FG, 6-13 3Pt), three assists, two rebounds and one block over 32 minutes during the Bulls' 123-107 loss to the Raptors on Thursday. Simons was cleared to make his Bulls debut Thursday, two days after he was traded by Boston to Chicago. Simons was strictly a bench player during his short Celtics tenure, but he was moved into the starting lineup for his first game in a Bulls uniform, and the veteran wing took advantage of the opportunity by connecting on a game-high six triples. Simons' efficiency from the field was a good sign, but what his role will look like once Josh Giddey (hamstring) and Tre Jones (hamstring) return remains to be seen. Simons will also be competing against fellow newcomers Jaden Ivey and Collin Sexton (recently traded) for backcourt minutes.

  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Will start in debut

Simons is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Raptors. This certainly doesn't cement Simons in as a starter moving forward, as the Bulls are without several key backcourt contributors Thursday, including Josh Giddey (hamstring), Collin Sexton (recently traded) and Tre Jones (hamstring). However, this should be a great opportunity for Simons to show what he can do in his first action with the Bulls.

  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Set for Bulls debut Thursday

Simons (recently traded) is available for Thursday's game against the Raptors, per Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca. After landing in Chicago in exchange for Nikola Vucevic, Simons is all set for his Bulls debut Thursday. The team is still shuffling some players around in the aftermath of Thursday's trade deadline, so Simons could be thrust into a fairly significant role right away. The veteran combo guard ended his Celtics tenure by averaging 16.9 points, 3.1 three-pointers, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 26.6 minutes per contest in his final 10 games for the club.

  • Bulls' Anfernee Simons: Moving to Chicago

The Bulls agreed to trade Nikola Vucevic and a second-round pick to the Celtics in exchange for Simons and a second-round pick Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. After acquiring Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley earlier Tuesday, Chicago continues to bolster its now crowded backcourt group. The Bulls' additions do make it difficult to project how much playing time each member of the backcourt will receive, as Simons now seems to have even more of an uphill climb for minutes. Simons averaged 16.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.1 three-pointers in 26.6 minutes per contest in his last 10 games with Boston. Simons is doubtful to debut Thursday against the Raptors.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Scores 12 points on seven shots

Simons supplied 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 117-106 loss to Atlanta. Simons was one of the few Celtics to get his points efficiently Wednesday evening, but with Boston getting blown out, Simons didn't log his usual minutes and wasn't able to capitalize on the hot shooting. Inconsistency has been a theme for Simons this season, which is why he ranks outside the top 150 with averages of 13.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.6 triples per game.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Paces Boston's bench in loss

Simons notched 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-11 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists and two steals across 28 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 loss to the Bulls. Simons had another strong performance off the bench Saturday, leading the Celtics in three-pointers while finishing second in scoring behind Jaylen Brown (33 points). It was the eighth 20-plus-point performance of the season for Simons and first since his 39-point outburst against the Heat on Jan. 15. He has averaged 16.1 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 threes over 26.7 minutes per game since the start of January while connecting on 45.0 percent of his three-point attempts over that span.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Mild effort in win

Simons closed Wednesday's 119-104 victory over the Pacers with nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 22 minutes. Simons continues to be a hit-or-miss fantasy asset off the bench in Boston. Over his last seven outings, he has produced averages of 15.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 three-pointers in 25.9 minutes per contest. He'll be a player to monitor ahead of the trade deadline since he's on an expiring deal.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Explodes for 39 points off bench

Simons logged 39 points (13-28 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal over 34 minutes during the Celtics' 119-114 win over the Heat on Thursday. Simons gave the Celtics the spark they needed to overcome a slow start to Thursday's game. He started out hot with 11 points in the first quarter, but he made his impact felt most in the fourth by tallying 18 of the Celtics' 36 points in the frame. It was a season-high scoring output for Simons and his most in a game since dropping 40 points against the Spurs on Jan. 26, 2024, while playing for the Trail Blazers. The 2018 first-rounder has become more comfortable in his bench role as the season has progressed, and in eight games since Jan. 1, he has averaged 18.3 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 4.1 threes over 26.6 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Tallies 16 points off bench

Simons racked up 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists across 24 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to Indiana. Simons scored at least 15 points for the fifth time in the past six games, salvaging what was otherwise another empty night. While the scoring has been a little better, he has struggled to contribute elsewhere, averaging 3.5 assists with zero steals during that six-game span. At best, he should be viewed as a streamer for points and threes.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Strong play continues Friday

Simons finished Friday's 125-117 win over Toronto with 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds over 26 minutes. Simons scored 11 of his 15 points in the second quarter and led the Celtics' bench in scoring. The eighth-year guard has struggled at times while adjusting to his bench role with Boston, but he's strung together some nice games of late. He has scored at least 15 points in five of his last six outings, and over that span he has averaged 17.7 points on 51.4 percent shooting (including 57.4 percent from three on 7.8 3PA/G), 3.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds over 26.1 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Paces Boston in win

Simons racked up 27 points (9-16 FG, 8-14 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 27 minutes in Monday's 115-101 win over Chicago. Simons shot 0-for-3 from beyond the arc and went scoreless in the first half, though he torched the nets in the second. The 26-year-old guard scored all of his game-high 27 points in the final two quarters, during which he knocked down eight of his 11 three-point attempts. He recorded season highs in both points and three-pointers Monday and has now scored in double figures in five straight games. Over that stretch, Simons has averaged 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 24.6 minutes per tilt.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Drains five threes in win

Simons produced 15 points (5-8 FG, 5-8 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 146-115 victory over the Clippers. The five made three-pointers represented Simons' best performance from beyond the arc since Nov. 9, when he went 5-for-8 from long distance in Orlando. The former Trail Blazer has drained multiple treys in six straight games, averaging 13.5 points, 3.2 threes, 2.7 boards and 2.5 assists in 22.3 minutes a contest over that stretch.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Paces bench in win

Simons produced 20 points (6-15 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 129-119 win over Utah. After averaging 10.7 points per game on 34.5 percent shooting from the field in his previous three appearances, Simons reached the 20-point threshold for the first time since Nov. 23. The 26-year-old guard also led the second unit in assists while dishing out four dimes, which he hadn't done since Nov. 26. Simons has scored in double figures in four of his last five outings, averaging 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 22.2 minutes per game over that stretch.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Logs 13 points in Portland return

Simons finished Sunday's 114-108 loss to Portland with 13 points (4-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals over 19 minutes. Simons helped the Celtics stay in the game with eight third-quarter points, but it wasn't enough to help defeat the team that selected him in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft. Simons has reached double-digit points in four of his last five games, but he's still adjusting to his bench role in Boston after being an everyday starter for Portland in the three prior seasons. Simons is averaging 12.8 points, 2.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds over 23.5 minutes per game in his first season with the Celtics.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Limited to 17 minutes

Simons closed with 11 points (4-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and one assist across 17 minutes during Monday's 103-95 victory over Indiana. Simons didn't see much action Monday, as the Celtics opted to ride Hugo Gonzalez for 37 minutes off the bench. Simons' is trending in the wrong direction, posting averages of 11.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 three-pointers over his last five games while shooting 38.9 percent from the field.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Invisible again Monday

Simons closed with nine points (3-9 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and one assist over 25 minutes during Monday's 112-105 loss to the Pistons. Simons continues to be a non-factor for the Celtics, scoring single digits for the third time in the past four games. While he was never really looked upon as a key piece for Boston, Simons' production has fallen short of even the biggest skeptics. In 26 appearances, he is averaging 13.0 points and 2.3 three-pointers in 23.7 minutes per game, leaving him well outside the top-200 players in standard formats. At this point, there is no reason to be holding him outside of deeper formats.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Scores 18 off bench in win

Simons recorded 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Sunday's 117-115 win over the Cavaliers. Simons led all bench players in scoring and has proved to be one of Boston's primary contributors, even as he plays with the second unit. On the season, Simons is averaging 13.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.2 blocks and 2.5 threes on a 40.7 percent clip.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Tallies 17 points off bench

Simons finished with 17 points (5-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists and four rebounds in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 102-100 loss to the 76ers. Simons couldn't get his shot to fall from the field but managed to salvage his day by drilling three triples. He's now hit three or more treys in four straight games. Simons was slightly more productive than usual on the glass and as a distributor, but he's been consistently more impactful in the scoring column.
