  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Back at full strength

Kawamura (oblique) is available for Thursday's game against Miami. Kawamura has put an oblique injury behind him and will be available off the bench if called upon Thursday night. However, he's yet to appear in an NBA game so far this season and should continue to see the majority of his playing time in the G League.

  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Inks two-way pact with Chicago

Kawamura agreed to a two-way contract with the Bulls on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Kawamura had previously signed a two-way pact with the Bulls over the summer, but he was waived before the start of the regular season. The point guard was limited to just two appearances in the preseason before missing time due to a right lower-leg injury, but he's presumably fully healthy at this point. Over the long haul, Kawamura is expected to see most of his action in the G League with the Windy City Bulls, but he'll likely join the parent club in the short term to provide depth in the backcourt while Josh Giddey (calf) remains sidelined.

  • Yuki Kawamura: Let go by Chicago

The Bulls waived Kawamura (lower leg) on Friday, K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network reports. Kawamura is still dealing with right lower-leg pain and didn't appear in Chicago's final three preseason games. Now, he'll have to explore other opportunities. The 24-year-old point guard signed a two-way deal with Chicago in July after spending the 2024-25 season on a two-way deal with Memphis, during which he averaged 1.6 points across 4.2 minutes per game in 22 regular-season appearances.

  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Remains sidelined Thursday

Kawamura (lower leg) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Chuck Swirsky of the Bulls Radio Network reports. Kawamura will miss Thursday's preseason finale while tending to a lower leg injury. He appears destined to spend the majority of his time in the G League this season, so it's unlikely that the 24-year-old will see the floor in Thursday's regular-season opener against Detroit even if he's back at full strength.

  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Doesn't play Tuesday

Kawamura (lower leg) didn't play in Tuesday's 124-117 preseason loss to the Nuggets. Kawamura remained sidelined for the club's penultimate preseason game due to lower-leg soreness. The two-way player's next opportunity to suit up will come in Thursday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves.

  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Won't play Sunday

Kawamura has been ruled out for Sunday's preseason game against Milwaukee due to lower-leg soreness, K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network reports. Kawamura will get Sunday off to recover from a lower-leg injury. His next chance to play will come Tuesday at Denver.

  • Bulls' Yuki Kawamura: Double-doubles off bench

Kawamura notched 15 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 10 assists, one rebound and three steals in 28 minutes of Tuesday's 114-105 Summer League win over the Pacers. Kawamura, who was on a two-way contract with the Grizzlies in 2024-25, appeared in 22 regular-season games at the NBA level. He was a standout for the Memphis Hustle in the G League, however, so it's not a surprise to see him make an impression on the Bulls during the Summer League.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Another absence coming

Kawamura (hamstring) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Thunder. Kawamura will continue to miss time Wednesday due to a sore right hamstring. His next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Dallas.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Rare appearance in win

Kawamura closed Wednesday's 138-107 win over the Raptors with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist over four minutes. Kawamura appeared for just the third time in the past 14 games, all of which have been during garbage time only. Given the current depth in Memphis, Kawamura would need a miracle to have any chance of playing a meaningful role this season.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Probable for Monday

Kawamura (shoulder) is probable for Monday's game against the Mavericks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. Kawamura has missed the last three games due to a left-shoulder sprain, but he is likely to return to action Monday. With numerous Grizzlies players sidelined, Kawamura would return to a perfect scenario to see some run, but it remains unlikely he will be fantasy-viable.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Ruled out Saturday

Kawamura (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Warriors, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports. Kawamura will miss his third straight game Saturday due to a left shoulder sprain. He didn't see much playing time off the bench before his injury, so his absence has had a minimal impact on the Grizzlies' bench rotation.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Ruled out for Tuesday

Kawamura (shoulder) won't play Tuesday against the Suns. Kawamura finished with 10 points in 11 minutes Sunday against OKC but will be forced to sit Tuesday with a shoulder injury. Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard could pick up a few additional chances in the backcourt as a result.

  • Grizzlies' Yuki Kawamura: Fails to score again Saturday

Kawamura had no counting stats in one minute during Saturday's 124-107 victory over the 76ers. Kawamura remains scoreless in his NBA career, logging fewer than five minutes for the sixth straight game. Other than being a feel-good story, Kawamura is unlikely to play meaningful minutes anytime soon.
