Broncos' Jared Crick: Lands on injured reserve
The Broncos officially placed Crick (back) on injured reserve Friday, Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official website reports.
Although Crick has dealt with a back injury since mid-August, the team remained optimistic he would be ready for the start of the season. He was unable to go Week 1, and it now appears the injury was more serious than originally thought. The 28-year-old is expected to undergo surgery to repair the issue. Adam Gotsis will now step up at defensive end with Crick out, while the team picked up Ahtyba Rubin to help provide depth.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Likely headed to injured reserve
Crick's back injury will require surgery and he is expected to land on injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Crick has been dealing with the back injury since the middle of August, and while there originally was optimism surrounding his Week 1 status, it has taken a turn for the worse, as Crick could be out for the remainder of the season. The Broncos will likely provide an official update on the defensive end following surgery, but the team did sign defensive tackle Aytyba Rubin in light of this news.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Limited participant Wednesday
Crick (back) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Crick also was limited last week and sat out the Broncos' season opening victory over the Chargers on Monday. Denver reportedly expected the 28-year-old to be ready to play for Week 1, so it's difficult to gauge how likely he is to suit up Sunday against the Cowboys.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Out for opener
Crick (back) has been ruled out for the Broncos' season opener against the Chargers, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
Crick was able to work on a limited basis at practice this week, so it is a little surprising he has already been ruled out. Regardless, the Broncos will be thin on the line in Week 1 with both Crick and Zach Kerr (knee) already ruled out. The Broncos are likely exercising caution here in order to ensure his health going forward.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Limited Thursday
Crick (back) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Ricky Henne of the Chargers' official site reports.
The Broncos are likely just being cautious, as they still fully expect Crick to play Monday against the Chargers. With Derek Wolfe (ankle) also expected to play, Denver's defensive front looks significantly better despite Shane Ray (wrist) being moved to injured reserve.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Gearing up for season opener
Crick (back) is expected to play Monday against the Chargers, Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official site reports.
The timing in Denver was perfect, with Derek Wolfe (ankle), who lines up opposite of Crick, being cleared the same day. The pair combined for 104 tackles and 8.5 sacks last season.

Broncos' Jared Crick: On track for Week 1
Crick (back) is expected to be ready for the Broncos' season opener against the Chargers, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Crick has been sidelined for roughly two weeks after leaving a practice session early due to a back issue. After he underwent an MRI, the team determined he would be week-to-week from that point on. His recovery has apparently been going well, as he is now expected to be ready for Week 1. Barring any setbacks, the 28-year-old is on track to start at defensive end for the opener.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Undergoing MRI on injured back
Crick will undergo an MRI on his back Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
Crick exited Monday's practice with back spasms, but the Broncos want to ensure the issue isn't more severe than that. An extended absence would be a huge concern for a defense that will likely be without its other projected starting defensive end, Derek Wolfe (ankle), for quite some time.

Broncos' Jared Crick: Week-to-week with back injury
Crick (back) is being listed as week-to-week following his MRI on Monday, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports.
Crick underwent an MRI on his injured back after an early exit from Monday's practice. The team is already without Derek Wolfe (ankle), so an extended absence would have significantly thinned the team's defensive depth. However, it now sounds like Crick should be good to go by Week 1. Adam Gotsis figures to see an increased workload at practice while Crick is sidelined.
