  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

Prescott has been a bad Fantasy quarterback so far this season, and it's tough to trust him heading into Week 3 against Baltimore. In two games against the Browns and Saints, Prescott is averaging just 14.2 Fantasy points per game, and the last time he scored fewer than 20 Fantasy points in consecutive games was Weeks 4 and 5 last season. Baltimore's defense once again has been tough on opposing quarterbacks in holding Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew to an average of 15.5 Fantasy points per game so far this year. I would only start Prescott in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Productive in Sunday's loss

Prescott completed 27 of 39 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the Saints. He added 12 rushing yards on two carries. Despite the final score, much of Prescott's production came in the first half, as Dallas put together a couple long drives but couldn't get the ball into the end zone while the defense was getting obliterated by Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans offense. Neither interception was entirely Prescott's fault, either -- the first came when his receiver stumbled out of his break, and the second came in the fourth quarter when his team was down by three scores and the QB was in desperation mode. Prescott has only two TD passes through his first two games, and he faces a tough test in Week 3 against a frustrated Ravens squad.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Start

Prescott managed Dallas to a win last week at Cleveland with 179 passing yards and a touchdown, but he should perform better this week at home against the Saints. In his last five home games in the regular season in 2023, Prescott passed for 1,650 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions, and he added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown. He scored at least 21.9 Fantasy points in each outing and averaged a whopping 33.3 points over that span. He also has scored at least 23.6 Fantasy points in four of his past five home openers, so this is a great setup for Prescott in Week 2.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Top DFS Play

Prescott's fantasy numbers didn't show it, but he and his offensive line were very impressive in their Week 1 win against the Browns. In Week 2 they face an easier task against the New Orleans Saints. I don't think they'll be able to run the ball successfully, which should mean a high-volume game from Prescott with Fantasy production to match the volume. He's my fourth-highest projected QB on the main slate.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Manages Dallas to win

Prescott completed 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 33-17 win over Cleveland. Prescott dominated headlines before kickoff by signing a four-year, $240 million extension, though he was asked to do relatively little in Dallas' dominant Week 1 win. The team was up 27-3 with 13 minutes remaining in the third quarter, so Prescott took to the air only 11 times for 23 yards in the second half. That sample also hurt his efficiency numbers, but Prescott was able to move the ball when needed by completing a long pass of 34 yards to CeeDee Lamb as well as a 21-yard touchdown to Brandin Cooks.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Gets four-year extension

The Cowboys and Prescott reached an agreement on a four-year, $240 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Mere hours before Prescott was poised to kick off the 2024 campaign, he finally reached a resolution as he sought an extension. He's thus locked in with Dallas through the 2028 season, when he'll be 35 years old. Prescott is coming off his third 4,000-yard season in five years in 2023, when he also tossed an NFL-high 36 TD passes.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

It's difficult to sit Prescott in one-quarterback leagues, but I wouldn't expect a big game in this matchup at Cleveland. The Browns were No. 6 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks last season, and Myles Garrett and the Cleveland pass rush will test the Cowboys' revamped offensive line with a new starter at left tackle and center. Hopefully, CeeDee Lamb will be his usual dominant self after holding out, but Prescott could get off to a slow start in this tough road matchup with the Browns.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Next start to be in Week 1

Prescott is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Per Machota, the plan is for Trey Lance to play the entire game, which would set the stage for both Prescott and Cooper Rush to be held out versus Los Angeles. Prescott's next game action is thus slated to occur on the road against Cleveland on Sept. 8.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Not playing Saturday

Prescott isn't in uniform ahead of Saturday's preseason game at Las Vegas, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Prescott sat out the Cowboys' exhibition opener last Sunday against the Rams due to a sore ankle, but he was able to return to practice Tuesday and participate fully one day later. Nonetheless, coach Mike McCarthy will opt to keep Prescott and likely a number of other starters on the sideline this weekend. Prescott is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he tossed for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions while rushing for 242 yards and two more scores in 17 regular-season contests.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Practicing in full Wednesday

Prescott (ankle) will be a full participant in Wednesday's joint practice with the Rams, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Prescott was given a precautionary day off last Friday due to ankle soreness, but the issue is no longer hampering him. If the Cowboys elect to play key starters during Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders, Prescott should be in line to play after having sat out the team's exhibition opener against the Rams. Prescott is still working without star wideout CeeDee Lamb at practice, as the No. 1 receiver remains away from team activities amid an ongoing contract dispute.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Expects to practice Tuesday

Prescott (ankle) said Sunday that he expects to be back out on the practice field at the Cowboys' next session Tuesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Prescott was unavailable for the team's 13-12 loss to the Rams in their preseason opener Sunday as a result of ankle soreness. It's unclear whether the quarterback would've played in the contest anyway, but it's a positive turn of events that he'll be able to return to practice right away.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Given precautionary day off

Prescott is not practicing Friday as he manages ankle soreness, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Prescott's ankle soreness stems from Thursday's joint practice with the Rams. Per the Cowboys, his absence Friday is completely precautionary, but Prescott is nonetheless not expected to suit up for Sunday's road preseason matchup against Los Angeles. The veteran quarterback was spotted with a protective walking boot on his right foot back in July, which was also linked to ankle soreness, but it remains to be seen whether his current issue is related. Prescott did say after Thursday's joint practice that he feels fully ready for the regular season, though, so it doesn't appear either his ankle issue or ongoing contract negotiations with the Cowboys are at any risk of impacting his availability Week 1 against Cleveland.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Says he's ready for regular season

Prescott said after Thursday's joint practice with the Rams that he feels ready for the regular season, Jon Machota and Saad Yousef of The Athletic report. "I'm going into Year 9, I've had a lot of experience," the quarterback said Thursday afternoon. "I think all of that carries into my confidence to say I could play a game right now. Part of me wishes that (practice) was a game... I'm ready to play and get after it." The veteran quarterback still has an unsettled contract situation as he heads into the final year of his current deal and possible free agency in 2025, but Prescott hasn't seemed distracted in training camp, even as the Cowboys' offense also deals with CeeDee Lamb's holdout. Prescott instead leaned heavily on Brandin Cooks during Thursday's joint practice while also looking frequently for Jalen Tolbert and tight end Jake Ferguson. Prescott may not see any action at all this preseason, but that lack of game reps shouldn't be an issue once a Week 1 trip to Cleveland rolls around.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Managing foot sprain

Prescott was spotted Thursday wearing a protective boot on his right foot due to a sprain, but the injury isn't considered serious, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. The Cowboys wrapped up the final practice of mandatory minicamp on June 5, which was roughly one month ago, and Prescott has reportedly been wearing his protective boot for about only a week, so it remains unclear how he suffered the injury. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network confirms that the injury is considered minor, so it doesn't seem like the franchise quarterback's foot sprain is at much risk of impacting his availability for the start of training camp on July 25. Now heading into his age-32 season, Dallas and Prescott have yet to come to terms on a new contract extension, and he remains scheduled for a $55.46 million cap hit in 2024. Meanwhile, star wideout CeeDee Lamb could be a candidate to hold out from training camp if he doesn't receive a new contract of his own.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Restructures bonus in contract

Prescott restructured his contract over the weekend, Field Yates of ESPN reports. The Cowboys converted a $5 million roster bonus into a signing bonus and added two void years to free up $4 million in 2024 cap space. They can further reduce Prescott's present-year cap hit by either extending him or doing a similar restructure with the $29 million base salary for the final year of his contract. Dallas hasn't done much else through the first week of free agency, despite losing last year's starters at left tackle (Tyron Smith - Jets) and center (Tyler Biadasz - Commanders).

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Tosses four TDs in Week 18 win

Prescott completed 31 of 36 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 28-10 rout of the Commanders. The Cowboys finally put together a strong performance on the road, and Prescott led the way with four red-zone TD strikes, two to CeeDee Lamb and one each to Jalen Tolbert and Brandin Cooks. In the process, Prescott became the first Dallas quarterback to ever lead the NFL in touchdown passes, tossing 36 in 17 games. The Cowboys locked up the NFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the NFC with the victory, setting Prescott up to face a ragged Packers secondary on his home turf in the wild-card round next weekend.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Contrarian DFS Play

Prescott has one last chance to make his case before the MVP voters and it just happens to come against arguably the worst pass defense in the league. Hopefully the Cowboys road woes will hold down Prescott's roster rate. I expect more people to play cheap QBs this week, so I'll pay up for Prescott in tournaments.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Paces Thanksgiving win

Prescott completed 22 of 32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns in Thursday's 45-10 rout of the Commanders. He added 10 rushing yards on his only carry. Prescott spread the ball around almost at will against an overmatched Washington defense, completing passes to 10 different receivers and blowing the game open in the fourth quarter with a 15-yard TD strike to CeeDee Lamb and a 34-yard toss to KaVontae Turpin. Prescott has been the hottest QB in the league since the Cowboys' Week 7 bye, and over the last five weeks he's posted a 17:2 TD:INT while averaging 320.4 passing yards a game with a 70.5 percent completion rate and an 8.9 YPA. He'll look to keep rolling at home in Week 13 against the Seahawks.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Passes for pair of TDs

Prescott completed 25 of 38 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 33-10 win over the Panthers. Prescott's pair of scores both came in the first half, as he found tight end Luke Schoonmaker from 18 yards before connecting with star wideout CeeDee Lamb from five. Although his streak of three-touchdown efforts was snapped at three games, Prescott still did enough to lead the Cowboys to another convincing victory. He'll now turn his attention toward Thursday's game against the Commanders in Week 12.

  • Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Four touchdowns, tops 300 yards

Prescott completed 25 of 31 passes for 304 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 43-20 win over the Rams. The Cowboys came out with an aggressive game plan, as Prescott had three touchdowns and 225 yards at halftime. His scores came from 18, 10, 22 and 25 yards away and were distributed to three different pass catchers. Prescott also completed five passes of more than 20 yards -- his highest mark of the year -- leading to his first 300-yard passing performance of the campaign. He and the Cowboys will look to continue their offensive heroics in an intra-division showdown with the Eagles in Week 9.
