Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Cleared to play vs. Houston
Smith (glute) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's wild-card game against the Texans, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Smith popped up on Friday's injury report as a limited practice participant due to a glute injury. He was able to log a full session Saturday, which was enough for him to fade an injury designation for Monday's playoff game. Smith logged just one catch (on two targets) for two yards during the Steelers' regular-season finale against the Ravens, and he'll operate as a rotational option in the passing game behind fellow tight end Pat Freiermuth.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Added to injury report Friday
Smith (glute) was limited at practice Friday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Smith worked fully Thursday, so his addition to the Steelers' injury report a day later is notable. Added context regarding the tight end's status for Monday night's playoff opener against the Texans is slated to arrive via Pittsburgh's final injury report Saturday. Though Smith had a five-catch effort Week 17 (when No. 1 wideout DK Metcalf was suspended), his production during the regular season was sporadic, resulting in a 38-222-2 line on 54 targets in 17 contests, a pace well off the career-best numbers he logged with Miami in 2024.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Minimal output in Week 18
Smith secured one of two targets for two yards while rushing once for two yards during Sunday's 26-24 win over Baltimore.
Smith tied his season-high mark with five receptions during last week's loss to the Browns, but he wasn't as involved in the passing game Week 18 while playing 44 percent of the team's offensive snaps. Although Darnell Washington (forearm, IR) will remain sidelined to begin the playoffs, Smith is unlikely to be a reliable contributor for Pittsburgh during postseason play. Smith hauled in just 38 of 54 targets for 222 yards and two touchdowns and rushed nine times for 70 yards and a score while appearing in all 17 games during the regular season.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Leads team in receptions Sunday
Smith secured all five of his targets for 18 yards while adding nine rushing yards on two carries during Sunday's 13-6 loss to Cleveland.
Smith has been inconsistent for most of the regular season, but he has topped 20 yards from scrimmage in three consecutive games. Although he was on the field for just 41 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 17, his five targets marked his highest total since Week 9 against the Colts. Smith's involvement in the passing game could remain elevated in next week's win-or-go-home matchup against the Ravens since Darnell Washington sustained a broken arm in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to Cleveland, and No. 1 wideout DK Metcalf will remain suspended.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Efficient as rusher
Smith failed to secure his lone target while gaining 28 rushing yards on two carries during Sunday's 29-24 win over the Lions.
Smith scored a rushing touchdown during last week's win over the Dolphins, before recording a pair of fourth-quarter carries in Week 16. He began the Steelers' final drive of the game with a 20-yard run before rushing for eight yards two plays later. Despite Smith's recent increase in work out of the backfield, his fantasy upside remains limited as Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell remain entrenched as the team's top running backs, while Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth see more consistent target volume at tight end.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Scores rare rushing TD
Smith had two receptions on as many targets for 12 yards while taking his only carry for a 14-yard touchdown in Monday's 28-15 win over Miami.
Smith wasn't much of a receiving threat on Monday, but he stood out in the box score with a rare rushing touchdown. The veteran tight end lined up at running back and took a pitch from quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the house to help put the game away in the fourth quarter. The 29-year-old continues to split time at tight end with Pat Freiermuth (3-45-0 receiving line) and Darnell Washington (3-25-0), both of whom outproduced Smith in the passing game Monday. Smith shouldn't register as more than a deep-league option for Sunday's tilt with the Lions.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: No catches in Week 14
Smith failed to secure his lone target during Sunday's 27-22 win over Baltimore.
Smith has had limited involvement in the passing game during his first season with the Steelers, but he's been especially unproductive recently, securing just five of 10 targets for 31 yards while rushing twice for seven yards over his last five appearances. It's not yet clear whether Darnell Washington (concussion) will be forced to miss additional time after exiting Sunday's win, but Smith would still be battling Pat Freiermuth for snaps and targets if Washington is sidelined.

Steelers' Jonnu Smith: Logs six receiving yards in loss
Smith secured one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Bills.
Smith was on the field for 53 percent of Pittsburgh's offensive snaps Sunday, which ranked second among the team's tight ends, as Darnell Washington played 79 percent, while Pat Freiermuth played 40 percent. However, Smith's work in the passing game remained limited, and he's now secured five of nine targets for just 31 yards while rushing twice for seven yards across his last four appearances.
